I'm just curious to see what games everyone else has enjoyed playing this year?

I did very littlie playing this year because of my move away from my gaming group, but below is a listing of what I played or ran. So, I'm curious: What's on your gaming table?

1. Savage Worlds (Rippers, Slipstream, and a homebrew called Savage Kids, + games at cons)

2. RIFTS (an ongoing 10+ year campaign set on Earth and the Three Galaxies, but currently in Wormwood)

3. Mongoose's Traveller

4. Some 3.5 at Con Carolinas (run by the 2009 Paizo RPG Superstar, Neil Spicer)

I ran:

1. 3.5 my SpirosBlaak/Cairvos game

2. Castles & Crusades, 2 games at Con Carolinas 2009

3. Rogue Mage playtest (M&M-based game I'll be publishing)

I played OD&D at GaryCON in Tim Kask's game and had a blast. And so I ran OD&D (with a little help from Holmes BD&D) for my gaming group and they absolutely loved it. The deadliness of it all just blew them away. Heh, remember when you rolled a 1 for HP?? LOL!

I also played F.I.T.S., the Mike Carr aerial combat game and it was a blast.

Our group played 2 sessions of C&C, but were on hiatus at the moment.

For this year, I finished up running a 3.5 Bard's Gate/Rappan Athuk Reloaded/NecroWorld campaign that ran for about 2.5 years. That was some fun, and great players too for that campaign.

Currently playing in a 576CY Greyhawk City campaign using Castles & Crusades. Love it. Deep roleplaying, mafioso-style game.

Currently playing in an on-going, BattleTech campaign (minatures). It's a merc-style game where we own and operate our own company.

Played in a C&C one-shot with Rigon as CK, Serleran, Treebore and a few others at Con-on-the-Cob in Ohio. That was really fun.

Will be playing shortly in an upcoming RIFTS campaign. This campaign focuses on the PCs being Juicer Murderthon stars, our games, competitors, and other mega-damage craziness pro-atheletes can get into. This one should be fun.

One of my former gamer group members was there. Did you get a chance to meet Heath Medlin? I hope to get to that con one year!

Coolio! I love me some RIFTS! Your campaign sounds like something that could mix well with Goodman Games' Xcrawl. I'd be interested in hearing how that goes.

My 3.5 campaign has been running for 10 years now. We don't play very often, though. No sign of wrap-up in sight.

Very cool concept. All my games in RIFTS resembled the old Tokyo-Giant Monster movies.

Awesome - didn't get to play it much, but loved the setting, the video game and GURPs Autoduel. FYI check this out:

For about $15.00 you get the whole thing in PDF -

I had the Compedium. It was awesome. They didn't add much of worth after the 2039 catalog so your really not missing anything if you skip those. I call it the "Clan Years" of CW since I pretty much only play BattleTech pre-Clans.

Our BattleTech game is pretty cool, but the accounting... OH THE ACCOUNTING! Oh, and when mercenaries can only get jobs to pay operating expenses, it drives merc companies into the ground. Good thing we just rescued a Davion prince being held hostage or else our company would be completely broke. The prince gifted us with an Atlas!
As for the RIFTS Murderthon campaign, as soon as we get it underway I'll post some of the happenings. If you know Juicers, then you know the campaign will probably not run that long anyway.

Are you guys planning on using any of the BTRPG rules that came out or are strictly doing it as a minis campaign?

The books both look very cool. Have DH and SWExplorer edition, but do eventually want to make the leap for both RT and SK. Have you tried out Solomon? (Just got done reading the Dark Horse Comic compliation on him)

Is BTRPG the same as Mechwarrior (FASA Corp.)?

For the past few months, its been solely C&C, but others we've played this year that I recall and had fun with are:

AD&D

AD&D 2nd Edition

Conan d20

Dragon Warriors

4th Edition

Dragon Warriors is cool as hell although we ended up usurping the setting and have been using it with C&C. Getting ready to start a C&C campaign using the A-series modified to fit into the DW setting.

Actually its the new version of Mechwarrior that Catalyst is putting out. They've got in PDF for $10.00 at RPGNow, but will release it in Hardcover once they've got the date for the print run set. It's like the 4th book in their ongoing remake of the line - Total War, Tech Manual, Tactical Operations, Strategic Operations - the RPG(Time of War) will apparently be seamless with the combat rules of the mini's game. But sounds like your playing Mechwarrior - which I think is an older version of the game.

Currently is is 95% minis. Though, we have our own version of the BTRPG based off of the minis rules from Total Warfare for all social and RPGesque actions. We'll see what A Time of War is like when it's released. So far, it seems like A Time of War is pretty dense with rules and mechanics. Lots of errors need to be worked out too. But I'm sure we'll try it out.

I hope you like SW. It's one of my other favorite games for ease of play. As a Misfit Studios project, I'm currently working on the conversion of SprisoBlaak to the system while trying to make the races near-equivalent to 3.5 in terms of abilities. It's getting challenging with the lycanthrope races.

I've only been a player this year.

1) Deadlands (continuation of a game that's been ongoing for 2 years now)

2) Exalted- We started with 1st edition and migrated to 2nd so it's been about 5 years or so for that one.

Played a lot of C&C.

Some Savage Worlds.

Playtested Sieg's Victorious game at Troll Con.

Running some Mongoose Traveller on line for a few weeks.

Played a bunch of other games in our Thursday Irregulars group. I think this year included Go Fer Yer Gun, Aces and Eights, L5R 3E, etc... but its hard for me to remember what was this year versus last year. I think Paranoia was this year too.

Played Warhammer 2E.

Almost played some Alternity.

Played several 4E Game Days.

Played Swords and Wizardry at Troll Con.

Played some TacoJohn 1E at Gen Con.

Played Aces and Eights at Gen Con.

I am sure I am forgetting stuff.

I found that out while trying to convert Dark Sun races from second edition (especially the Thri-kreen) to SW.

Continuing to DM my D&D 3.5 Rappan Athuk. Egads, I think it's going on 3 years for this bad boy. I long to run C&C, but it's hard to give up this campaign.

I have been also playing in a D&D 3.5 Grey Citadel / Wilderlands campaign, but we haven't played in a while due the DM's work schedule.

Running C&C for my kids & their friends. We were going monthly, but we're missing a couple months and will resume in December.

I was a player in an excellent online game of C&C on Saturday nights for the first half of the year; it went on hiatus over the summer and then shifted to monthly this fall, but I haven't been free on game nights yet.

Mentzer Basic set in the Grand Duchy of Karameikos

C&C set in Yggsburgh (Upper Works rawks)

StarSIEGE in a generic universe that my group is fleshing out session by session. We each add little bits from week to week. Kind of like if Babylon 5, Star Trek, Star Wars, and Star Frontiers had an orgy and then tried to cuddle afterward.

OD&D - My "Cromlech Tor" campaign. My "Lost City" campaign. I also played in Tim Kask's OD&D game at the North TX RPG Con.
Swords & Wizardry - Playtested Matt Finch's Spire of Iron and Crystal module.
Mutant Future - ran a game with MF rules, but the setting is a "modern dungeon" dimension anomaly at some underground nuclear test sites.
Call of Cthulhu - I've run a couple of scenarios (all BRP)
AD&D - Played in Rob Kuntz's El Raja Key dungeon (at the North TX RPG Con). Also played in grodog's Castle Greyhawk (same con).
Risus - Played a completely free-form/improv session (inspired by a Robin Laws column) that turned out to be something like a zombie survival horror flick. It was different and interesting.

Huh, looking at that list, I've been gaming more than I thought. I think I've been in a gaming dry spell the past couple months, though. (Not "no gaming," but less that usual.)
