Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Yeah, but those are essentially dry and boring stat blocks, this isn't.

I have no need to know a detailed history of the Deck of Many Things as it relates to the Pathfinder setting. Six pages of decription for each magic item? What a waste. I understand why Paizo doesn't want to make the book more generic, but there is no good reason to purchase a 60-page magic item book that only has 10 or so items in it (unless you need that information for your Golarion game). So for C&C purposes, this book is pretty useless.
When I saw you post the link I was pretty excited to see new magic items that could be used with PF or C&C. But nope, ain't happenin'.
Personally I like PF just fine, but this revisited junk stinks. Already Paizo is just rehashing stuff that has been done to death. Lame.

Gee Wizz.......
I have to agree with Omote.
A book with only 10 items each having 6 plus pages dedicated to each of those 10 items.
A $20 book... so Two bucks per magic item for re-hashed data and details that no one would really need to use the items in any adventures they GM/CK/DM.
Exactly how detailed can you get with them?
From what I read it seems that the book goes into detail about how to insert the item into Pathfinder game and world setting. Other items that are similar and cursed items of similar name, or appearance.
A note on the books contents as posted By: James Jacobs (Editor-in-Chief, Pathfinder), Tue, Jul 14, 2009, 10:54 AM
Reminds me of the gluttony of splat books printed for D20... there were literally hundreds of books published with nothing that was actually useful in them, just additional data on old stuff that had already been hashed and rehashed for decades already.
Cannot speak for this revisited book or any of the other so-called revisited books that were published by Pathfinderas I do not own any and have never even seen one.
But those D20 splat books were almost always useless drivel and a waste of money to those who bought them and some of those I have seen and have had a few too (through buying E-Bay listings with a group of books)
Here is a link to a useless magic item that one of my PCs once got in the sharing of a treasure hoard.
http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0130.html
They gave it to my PC as he was a Mage. (Never could get them to explain why my PCs class mattered for that item)
One PC Cleric got a staff of Curing, a fighter got a +2 Long Sword and the thief PC got a +2 Ring of Protection (Which my PC mage could have used more).
And my mage got that Useless Magic Item.
No thanks guys, I am not interested.....
Sure the book would be nice to read, if for no other reasn than to see how those 10 artifact type items have been expounded upon, but not at the cost of 20 bucks.
I shall pass on any and all of the revisited books and spend my limited funds elsewhere, like another C&C Adventure....

The format of the book will be similar to the other Revisited books we've done; 10 chapters of 6 pages each for all of the mentioned items. There'll certainly be a lot of art in the book, and there might be some sort of tables or something (not sure what, but if there are, they'll be small and highly focused), but there won't be any talk about other types of treasure, really, including coins.

You guys are judging too harshly, Paizo does not "waste space", and if you would also read a little more, they do make it fit their setting, but they also make it friendly to any setting.
So when I get this I am going to get a product that gives me numerous plot hooks per item to use in my games. That is why I buy these products, ideas and inspiration I would never come up with on my own.
Plus they are also going to touch on related magic items, and apparently variants as well.
I have yet to buy a Paizo product where I felt ripped off. Which is why I subscribe.

I have a some Piazo products too, though none of the Revisited books.
As I said; I have never seen one; so I cannot say they are useless, but from what I have read, they simply do not interest me.
The Piazo products I do have I happen to like and I will probably buy other Piazo products in the future. But I will not buy the Revisited books myself.

Understandable. I wouldn't either if my primary reason wasn't for fresh ideas since most of my original ideas were tapped out 20 years ago. Even though I have totally new players to reuse them all on I find the prospect of doing that too boring. So I buy these things searching for ideas that are fresh for me and my players to explore.
So the idea of using these old magic items in fresh new ways is exciting to me.

Got it; and I agree with your having more of a need for new outlooks on old ideas.
I saw the logic behind the revisited name from the start.
Like you I have a few decades of gaming experience and plenty of old data to use, but I have not come anywhere near running out off material to use, as I have new players who have only been exposed to tiny portions of that Fantasy gaming material.
So all of that old data is basically brand spanking new as far as the players I am overseeing are concerned....
If all of my players (or DMs) were as old and experienced as me, I would be clamering for any and all of the new stuff I could find...
All of my players are 14 and under and most are my grandkids.
Actually, I still do collect new materials that interest them and myself.
Mostly low level adventures and other items that might interest my gaming group.
So far, none of them have even heard of any of the items in that new Pathfinder revisited supplement.
I can use the more limited data in the AD&D core rule books if they ever do.
