Minus Strength Modifiers on Attack and Damage rolls

Post by Gruffalo Crumble »

Hello! I have one quick question regarding the combat rules for C&C.

The rules specify when rolling to attack, you add the character's strength modifier to the attack roll, and again to damage.

Do you also subtract a negative strength modifier from attack and damage, if the character in question is particularly weak? As a result, can the damage from a successful strike be reduced to zero by a negative strength mod?

Yes, for attacks based on Strength.

No. All successful attacks deal a minimum of 1 damage, unless an ability or other mitigating factor (perhaps spells, magic items, etc) allow damage to be reduced to 0.
