Hey Serl or anyone else who wants to answer, I was using an ogre mage in my last session and it has regeneration listed as a special ability, but there is no discription for it in the write up. Do ogre mages have regeneration or not? If they do, what is it and which types of attacks bypass the regeneration?

I don't think the answer was correct. Page 5 of the M&T says " The number following the listing in the creature's stat block designates how many hit points that creature can heal in a round."

For the troll it says "regeneration 2"

for Ogre mage it just says "regeneration" no number is listed so a CK must guess the rate of regeneration.

Nor does the monster descriptive text say how to do permanent damage, though I assume for that, one would use the page 5 text reading "Certain attack forms, typically fire and acid, deal lethal damage to the creature." But as the page 5 text says 'typically', it ought to be confirmed one way or the other in the Ogre Mage descriptive text.

I imagine all this is a typo, and should be added to the errata list for the next printing?

Regeneration, with no number, implies 1 HP / round - that could be clarified. And, because the ability does not specify otherwise, the "typical" is what is used - hence, fire and acid are not regenerated; everything else is.

Oh, and there would have to be a next printing...

Optimist! Of COURSE there's going to be a next printing. Ever positive!
