Favorite Adventure Module???

I have bought adventures on the blind before and have been dissapointed.
I have an existing party I wish to switch over to C&C. They have just made 4th level.
I wanted to know what the best module is to play them thru at that level.
Also, which module would you suggest a starting party play?
I have many modules for other systems seem compatible but I was wondering if you had any C&C favorites.

Well, don't start with A-3, the map is confusing, especially the first two levels.
For beginners? There is a couple of free PDF's beginning adventures at trolllord.com, and the one with the Knight has been well received.
For 4th level play? A-4 is pretty good. So is Secret to Smugglers Cove and The Mysterious Tower (Goodman DCC's converted to C&C for you).
If I remember correctly thats also the level for Halflings Hall. Which is good, and a bit different than most modules.

Started my C&C campaign yesterday, new group of players, 3 of which had never played an RPG before (ages 9, 12 and 60-something) along with a veteran (age 37) and a semi-experienced player (age 19).
Good mix of classes, none of them human oddly enough. 1/2 elf fighter, gnome barbarian, gnome spellsword, dwarf friar (the old guy really hammed this up, he played great!), 1/2 elf cleric/wizard and an NPC I ran with them to help them out, a 1/2 orc cleric. Certainly made for some comedic moments.
1st level characters, ran the Rising Knight adventure. They had a great time! It's a tough run but not overly hard. I was afraid the action may not stay strong enough to keep the younger players involved but by the time they found the Temple and started the dungeon crawl they were riveted and quite active in the group. Some of the amazing things that occurred (as seems to always happen in a good gaming session) really kept them on the edge of their seats, like the cleric/wizard using Sound Burst to level a group of 7 goblins in one mighty thunderclap, or the 1/2 elf fighter skewering a kobold with his 2H sword and continuing his charge to skewer their leader in the next round, having two kobolds pinned to a door on his sword. Lovely!
They didn't quite get to the end and they want to finish it up today. Good times! I recommend the adventure.

I'll recommend ~ Mortality of Green and The Wicked Cauldron for levels 3-5.
I was also going to mention Lion in the Ropes which is for levels 2-4 and it's free, but I can't find the link on TLG's site. Anyone know where it went??

Oh... and in terms of the original post...
I agree that The Shadows of Halfling Hall is pretty awesome and could be a great module to start. I believe it has a greater potential for role playing and can possibly be used as a spring board to future adventures.
The Mysterious Tower is also a great module and if you looking for that 'old school feel' this one should fit the bill quite nicely.

Assault on Blacktooth Ridge is pretty good too, especially with the two follow up, $1.00 modules that go along with it at RPGNow. However, 4th level could be a little bit too high for AoBTR.

You know, I just can't think of one that isn't good. I own most of them, and they all rock. As far as actual playability goes, I haven't run all of them yet so I can't really say from that perspective. I just can't see you going wrong with any TLG choice.

For 3rd level parties, I'd recommend The Mortality of Green. It's a great adventure and it has good campaign info for that part of Aihrde and Steve is working on the follow-up adventure, Shades of Mist. All in all the Darkenfold is an awsome place.

I agree, a very good module, and just about right for 4th level characters.

Well, I have now run almost every module now, plus a fair number of classics again, like "Against the Giants". But as for the TLG mods I would have to say my personal favorite is still A1 Assault on Blacktooth Ridge. Still, lots of them have had a huge impact on my home game. In particular Slag Heap, Mysterious Tower, and the Forsaken Hand modules, after A1.
The one I liked the least is A3 Wicked Cauldron, but my family liked it a lot because it is the module that really showed them how powerful they had become, which I had to modify the module to their level since the "A" series has been coming out so slowly, so they were 9th to 11th level for that one.
Still, we had a lot of fun with all of them. Even the ones rewritten from d20 to C&C that my oldest son used for his campaign with us.

Wicked Cauldron's alright as long as you're o.k. with repetitive dungeon crawl stuff where you encounter the same monster over and over.
Picture it like entering a lair of some sort.
Slightly tweaked though, it can make for some fun times:
I turned the area around the piramid into slave camps, complete with overseers, etc. (goblins, ungern, & evil spiders helping out) and that made for some laughs as members of the party tried to infiltrate the nasties' ranks.
An adventure with great potential that's for sure...

All time favorite adventure modules:
1.) Crucible of Freya (Necromancer Games)
2.) Keep on the Borderlands (TSR)
There are a few others that are high on my list, but this is about all time favorites, and it was hard enough to pick even these.

I think he was asking all time favorite C&C module. If he wants my all time favorite module it would not be A1. That would be I6 Ravenloft.

I was asking about C&C but Crucible was great! I have ran it twice now, and each time, the party barely escaped with their lives.
Both times they manage to chase the cleric away but in one the victim was shanked, and in another...a kids game, I did not have the heart to give them a murdered kidnap victim.
Interesting to see the different tactics taken though.
Both times they manage to go straight to the chapel though.

The one thing that Crucible of Freya does well is present a whole micro-setting. Some of those encounters can be totally skipped as they do not directly relate to the module. However, with the information provided there are tons of hooks to keep adventuring near the town of Fairhill going for some time.
Love that mod.
