Questions re troll stats in A1
Do the stats for the the Troll in A1 seem execptionally high for a level one module? I know the stats do not follow the MT 2nd. I am thinking a river troll or a plain troll per the MT would be better suited . What have other people done when running this encounter?
The Vargolg is also very tough shortly after - if the party is still 1st level... my group was tougher by the time they encountered the bridge troll, but it was indeed tough. One PC came very close to death, lots of damage was done to all, but in the end the PCs won.

Davis always tends to make his critters tougher than the usual.

Nothing says the PC's can out-think the troll, by attacking from a distance at first. I have an overcautious group who loves to pepper all opponents with arrows before engaging in melee. [/i]
Add if they encounter the troll in his den? ( I would assume if they do that they likely desire to wipe anyways.)
