Perhaps I've missed something somewhere. There have been mention of gods in the rising knight adventure, with no reference to where they can be found.
Are they the same as in the Haunted Highlands? or are they located in print somewhere?
Any help would be great!
C&C Gods and Dieties
Howdy, lordoftherealm!
The Haunted Highlands series is separate from the Rings of Brass house campaign setting of Aihrde (and its dimensional sister-world Inzae) in Castles and Crusades. Airhde is the world where Rising Knight, and the other A-series modules, are set.
There are three places where you can find information about the gods of Aihrde right now. I've linked to PDF sources on the RPGNow website below.
Most recent is the Aihrde Cosmos and Timeline. It doesn't provide a lot of background description of the deities, but it does give you the basic need-to-know gameplay details. Also, it's cheap, at $2 US.
The Cosmos and Timeline is an updated excerpt from After Winter's Dark: The Aihrde Campaign Setting. There's more background on the powers of Aihrde here, scattered throughout. Use your Adobe Reader's Search function (under Edit) to find all the instances of a given name quickly.
Lastly, there's the out-of-date Codex of Erde Gazetteer, which was originally put together for the d20 system. A lot of this information re-appears, updated, in the After Winter's Dark book above. Still if you're willing to sift through world detail which may or may not still be considered "official", you can look here. I doubt it will tell you anything about the gods of Aihrde that the two books mentioned above won't, though.
Hope this helps!

I also think it's worthwhile to mention that Rising Knight is highly portable. Mention of "gods" was likely kept generic to make its use in other campaign settings easier. So, in short, the "gods" are any that you choose.

The d20 Erde book has a fair number of religious weapons, items, and armor that are not in the folio. Plus, other than some significant name changes, the D20 Codex is just as canon as the folio in terms of campaign fluff.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Hi TheNewGuy, this isn't quite correct. If I may clarify for the OP ~
The Codex Gaz and the Codex of Erde (campaign book) are completely relevant and NOT at all out of date. Nothing in the way of lore, history, regional city/state information, time line or Aihrdian Pantheon has changed.
The After Winters Dark is just a newer release with the essential info from the Codex presented in a more organized fashion. It's perfect for the casual C&C CK's wishing to have the basics at their fingertips to enhance the A series modules.
For those wishing full official canon for their Aihrde campaigns, the Codex of Erde is an excellent resource.
When I first ran The Rising Knight, I got so interested in the occasional reference to Unklar and other Aihrdian lore, I just knew I had to get the Codex.
It completely enhanced my enjoyment of the modules and conversely allowed me greater enjoyment of the Codex.
So I guess it comes down to this - how much of the Pantheon/lore/history/details of Aihrde do you want in you world?
Hope this helps.
Rhu.

Have to agree with Rhuvein here. I don't generally buy d20 system material simply because the system itself pretends to be something it's not (and that's a long story, so don't ask), but the Codex is still very valuable if you want to run an adventure in the setting.
Just to clarify, weren't some of the names of cities and states changed in the Folio to make the place sound less Germanic?

Thanks.
Although I have been gaming for 22 years and can whip up deities, I want play along in Erde, with all of the deities, bells and whistles
I almost quit gaming one March 3rd and was with renewed zeal that I chose to continue gaming on March 5th.
I'd love to keep buying modules and stuff, to keep the Chenault boys writing a game that resembles the one that I had fallen in love with 22 years ago, my Red Basic Players Handbook.

If you are interested in Erde/Airdhe, then get both the AWD Folio and the Codex. Personally, I also went with the pre-d20 version for the Trolls, now defunct, Sword and Sorcery system (the precursor to C&C). You can never have to much info on a setting... as long as it only rehashes the same info in a clearer and better organized manner.
Just get the AWD Folio.

I seem to recall a discussion some years back about changing many of the Germanic names, but best I can tell this hasn't been done with the one exception being Aihrde.
The only other significant change was changing Outremere to New Aenochia.
There is also what appears to be a new city in New Aenochia called Vilshofen that wasn't mentioned in the Codex, but was on the Bunce map.
