Hi all,
My regular group has just finished a major story arc in and around the Blacktooth Ridge area and will be moving out to adventure in other parts of the Cradle of the World...
I have decided, as they are all strong 8th and 9th level, to insert S3 Expedition to the Barrier Peaks into the Voralberg Mountains, with Augsberg replacing Geoff.
Has anyone run S3 with C&C? I ask for any conversion suggestions to be aware of as I start to prepare (1st time using this level 1e mod - have ported B and X and could do those on the fly)... also the sci fi aspects, anything to be especially aware of as I convert and play?
Thanks!

I haven't converted it personally, but I think you really should be able to flip the ACs and be good to go. If S3 includes traps/events where the module specifies the chance of success or failure (e.g., PC does X if she rolls 4 or less on a d6) use the module's proposed mechanic rather than trying to convert it to a SIEGE check.

Excellent John.
I've been thinking a lot lately about putting S3 into my Aihrde campaign. As I can't wait for my group to level high enough (that could take years at the rate we play), I might scale the module down to a 3-4 lvl appropriate challenge.
And playing in Jim Ward's MA game has got me totally psych'd to run sci-fi.
Heh, and of course, Gary credits Jim and Rob Kuntz for their "inspiration" on the module.
The art, maps and total look and feel of this mod is nothing short of outstanding.
I'm fairly certain that my players will be surprised when they find this "cave" or "dungeon".
Anywho, I'm looking forward to reading what you do with it and how your players like it.
Will you surprise them with it, and do any of them know this mod?
Good luck with it.

Nope - none of them are old enough or played in the early days, so this will be a surprise!!
Cannot wait on this one - my copy arrived from Noble Knight today (I'd loaned mine previously - never again) and I am psyched.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Expedition to the Barrier Peaks! That takes me back to the Sikeston Middle School library(in Missouri. Circa 1982 or 1983) Must have been my first year or two of roleplaying. We played Star Frontiers Crash on Volturnus, among others there. The librarian was always very understanding, but occasionally had to get onto us for noise. Thanks for the memories.
