Any recent info on this?

I've been awfully tempted to start the A series in the near future but the production time keeps holding me back.

While I liked everything about the Blacktooth Ridge series, I have been hesitant to play them because I WANT THEM ALL!!! I'm guess I'm in the same boat as DD. Perhaps, once all of these are out will be the start of the big aihrde campaign.

Yup, thats my issue as well. This looks like a pretty sweet series, I just don't want to get into it and have it flutter out due to lack of production.

I don't even need all of them before I start, but knowing that with a lets say, 5-6 module headstart I could run it and have the additional modules come out while working my way through the first ones would be encouraging.

Just now got around to reading Friday's blog. Looks like this series will be moving forward at a quicker pace maybe.

Sweet.

I'm getting them but waiting to run them until it's close to completion. Don't want gaps in my game.

I might give them the benefit of the doubt and start a A Series game after A5 releases. Looks like the A series production is on the up and up.

Still undecided now though.

You know, we've seen no A series releases in 2008.

I don't expect anything major to happen until next year. TLG may need these next couple months to sort out what to do with all the stuff they had to pull. '09 should be stronger with releases now that the schedule has cleared up. At least that is a positive in all this.

Well, I integrated all of the modules, Halflings Hall, Fingers of the Forsaken Hand, etc... into the "A" series, and you need to do so. I have even integrated a couple of Goodman Game 3E DCC's. The "A" modules alone will not give enough XP's. Still, I am well beyond A4. My group is in the dual class 12/13 to single classed 16th level range, and now going into my own Aufstrag, which I am doing by turning Castle Whiterock into Aufstrag (Aufstrag is a HUMONGOUS Treant, or at least an Intelligent tree), and populating it with many monsters and NPC's.

Then again there are lots of old school maps over on Dragonsfoot that look like caverns, etc... so would also fit the look I have imagined for Aufstrag.

Wow, sounnds groovy. When the real ones come out you can say the characters were in a fever dream and now they have to save the day again... at level 5!

I broke down today and started my preparations for an A-Series campaign. With a slew of other C&C modules for use as filler and the promise of A5-7 on the horizon I'm hoping the Trolls can keep cranking out the A Series at a regular enough rate that it doesn't stall my campaign.

IMO, the A series is good, but A4 is the weakest of the bunch so far. It felt hurried, and teh quality of the module showed. Spend a bit of time on A4 before you play it, with the map out in front of you so you can correct some of the issues.

This will be my "mega" series that I'll be playing once we get A13 in my hands. I'm tired getting burned, so I'll just sit tight and wait and see and hope that everything gets released.

Cheers,

J.

A4 is the weakest so far. I'll agree. I don't think it was hurried (it took more time to write and any of the previous As) it just didn't turn out right.

I was limited to a 24 page book. As you read through it, you'll notice things that seem incomplete. I tried to basically take a 64 page book an cram it into a 24 page book.

I am noting the same for A6 but am not sure why as it is not a lengthy tome. In any respect, I hope you get some fun out of them.

Oh, by the by, this will prbably be the last time we do serial adventure. Trying to make a module that is both stand-alone and part of a series it too much work. Also, we get into situations like the current one where we have tones of mods to write befor epeople can begin their adventures in earnest.

I'd say if you do more serial adventures just keep them to 2-3 episodes. The a series is ambitious and, I think, as time goes by, will become a cornerstone of C&C.

Well, I can't wait to see them all. However, out of curiosity, what would be some of the sort of things you'd want to put back into A4 to render it more complete? I'd be very curious as to a 'Director's Cut' of the module.
