Has anyone ck'd either of these pdf's. I'm getting ready to run them at a convention next weekend, and was curious about the length, things to look for, etc. Thanks.

I have run both. I prefer the cloud giant's tower. However, watch for the players killing the giant - bad things can happen. Make sure you read the traps carefully... some are down right lethal. I ran this in about two hours. For an added challenge, make sure you have one of the monsters use his ring (see room 7). When I used that ring, the party let out a gasp and a collective "OH !" Which lead them to killing the giant. This module can result in a TPK even for a party of 5 and 6 level characters.

As for the Wizards tower, I found that the tower was a bit empty in terms of encounters. If you are running a party that likes fights, then you may need to add to the encounters. I beefed up the last encounter. For a combatcentric party, I would add some additional encounters during the approach to the tower. Again ran this in about two hours. Without the modifications I made, I would have ran it in about 1-1.5 hours.

Ah crud. I think I made 4th level characters. I definately noticed a few deadly traps, and the giant. The con sessions are 4 hours, but as long as I fill slightly over half of that time I should be okay. Thanks for the advice. I may print it out as a reminder.

Level four characters can handle it just be watchful of the traps.

The giant is sleeping and not really intended to wake until the end.

In the group I ran, the party by passed the tower and went through the upper floor windows. Once up there they were some what puzzled by the lack of immediate action, but a failed move silent check alerted the rest of the denziens of the tower and then the party was swarmed. Once the shaman used his ring the party panic and killed the sleeping giant, and then the tower fell.... Splat!!

Sounds like your party had quite a time. Splat is never good. I'll put your suggestions to good use. Thanks.
