Well at long last NerNeths eyes close in death doing what it was he was raised to do.

His name was Ner'Neth Kluggenrothe and though his Drow masters meant it as a smear upon them a jest, a mockery.... Ner'Neth took it as his name and wore it with Pride.

In Drow Kluggenrothe is interperted as Meat-Shield.

Tonight the big eared Half Ogre leaped to the aide of the noble Crowner and though he knew it not it would be the last of his brave actions in this life. A landshark ready to tare the Noble Crowner to death instead met instead the NerNeth Kluggenrothe and Vlos Neir'Elleri his flail.

He was not enough to save himself but was indeed enough to save the man he called master Ser Erlcer, whom Nerneth did not understand as the two were disimilar in outlook like night differs from the dawn.

Its was in the Jaws of the Land Shark Nerneth met his end.

He was was a faithful and true compainion and ever the willing "Meat-Shield"

Good game all. Bullete's are nasty I admit. You guys almost managed to down them both before Nerneth got chomped to bits. Good role playing by all.

Sorry for the sudden leaving last night. Had to see to the baby so my wife could sleep.

Martin, if you are leaving Nerneth's soul to rest, send me a PM over the break as to kind of character you would like to play. I'll let you know what your starting XP will be later and work you in.

Methinks a 1d3 Bullete's is a tad heavy (of course I would have to roll a 3). Will adjust my table to a 1d2 or maybe a lone bullete depending on the party's power level if they are ever rolled again on my table.

After continuing easterward for a few hours, you can feel the taste of magic in the air. Any spell casters can sense things are 'off' in the area. Continue onward brave souls or scurry back. You will have to decide next session which should be a great one. Lots of twists and turns still await those brave or foolish enough to enter the lost land of the elves.

Sorry to see NerNeth go. As with most characters you run, NerNeth certainly added some entertaining moments to our game sessions. I'm sure the next arrival will be equally as enjoyable.

As my Wednesdays have trended, sorry about the late arrival once again. Rob, if you feel there's a more worthy, reliable player, I certainly won't take it personally if you need to sub me out.

Best to check with the guys on who got what. I think Josh took a record of it Matt. The only thing you do know is that it is cursed. Not sure if the guys chucked it or if it is still on their person.

No worries about the gaming Matt. Next session isn't til Jan 7 I believe I posted. See how things work out on your end in the new year.

Hmmm. If you did want him raised, that would be up to the party to deal with. As well, if you decide to run a new PC, Nerneth will become an NPC in my setting. Who knows if he will work with Lubok, I'll have to decide whats best. Interesting tidbit though. If the party does raise the big guy, do they give him all his items and leave him as is, or take the stuff for themselves. Could be an interesting side play for sure.

As for the XP Martin, I am hoping to go thru some gaming stuff tomorrow along with the partys XP and loot listing from Session 5. I'd say check back in the next day and it will be up or better yet, I'll reply to your PM.

The XP for Game Session 5 is as follows:

2 Bulette for 3990 xp. Only Elcer, Ethrin, Nazir, and Timmy get this as Nerneth died and Camille was playing tag with squirrels in the trees.

Loot: If you gut the baddies, you will find a total of 1200 gp and a +1 Warhammer (assuming Ethrin does an Identify). This loot give a total of 80 XP.

Role Playing: 4 hours X 50 = 200 xp.

Total per character: 1218 xp.

Since its been some time since the last game, here is what I have on file for the party:

Josh: Erlcer (Crowner 8)

Don: Ethrin (Wizard 7)

Brad: Timmy (Fighter 7 / Cleric 3)

Matt: Camille (Druid 7 / Monk 4)

Marc: Nazir (Ranger 5 / Assassin 4 / Marksmen 4)

Martin: ????? (?????)

If you have leveled up since I took note of your levels at the beginning of the game, let me know so I can update my records. This is very important, as I gauge the random encounters on your party power score which is currently at 430.

See people in about 5 hours or so.

We met some fiends, one turned into a humming bird, we chased him around for a bit, then he got away, killed his buddy though, they attacked us at night while Erlcer was on watch. The half elf was brought back from the dead after a heavy wound. He is of course a drow now, but that is another story...

The group encoutered 2 Balan, nasty little fiends for sure. One was defeated as Josh mentioned but the second managed to escape with its life and is still around somewhere.

The wizard was killed in combat, and you had to make 3 attempts with your Resurection Rod to being him back. The first 2 attempts failed. The 1st caused your hair to grow a foot longer, and the 2nd transformed the elf in the dark elf!

Here is the XP and loot from the 3 Ropers and 2 Balan:

Ropers: 15429 xp + loot (see below): 1481

Balan: 5339

Subtotal: 3086 (based on 5 players) and 1335 (based on 4 players)

Role Playing: 200 xp

Erlcer receives 4621 xp

Ethrin receives 3286 xp then dies. Current XP now: 31,900 xp

Timmy receives 4621 xp

Camille receives 0 xp (Never played)

Nazir receives 4621 xp

Damascalies Vren receives 4621 xp

LOOT: Wood with silver inlay medallion, mithral hourglass (very expensive), stone with gemstones waistchain, stone with gemstones buckle, ivory belt, jade with ivory figurine of a doppleganger, ivory with gold broach, steel scroll container. Ring of Sustenence

The hummingbird can fly 25 miles per hour. Doing the conversion, Thats 36.666666... feet per second. Given a 10 second round, the little critter can reach 366.666666... feet in 1 round, its dive is even faster. So I guess the fiend was fine with the distance afterall

Spell Notes Known:

Cushion Fall

Destroy with Sound

Inspire Courage

Song Strike

Stun

True Language

Whisper

Cushion Fall

Abjuration [Sonic]

Range: 100 feet

Target: One creature or object

Duration: Instantaneous

Saving Throw: None

Spell Resistance: No

You (or another of your choosing within range) can fall

safely up to 20 feet per level. This spellsong does not reduce

falling speed, but instead creates a cushion under the falling

creature or object that absorbs the fall. If the target falls farther

than the bards level allows, the target suffers full damage.

Unlike other spellsongs, cushion fall can be cast even

when it is not your turn. However, if you cast it out of turn,

on your next turn you can take either a standard or a move

action, but not both.

Deflect Blow

Abjuration [Sonic]

Range: 20 feet

Target: One creature or object

Duration: 1 round/level

Saving Throw: None

Spell Resistance: No

The next time the subject is attacked, the subject gains a

+10 deflection bonus to Armor Class for that attack only.

Destroy With Sound

Evocation [Sonic]

Range: 20 feet

Area or Target: A 3-foot-radius spread; or one solid object

or one crystalline creature

Duration: Instantaneous

Saving Throw: Wis negates (object); Wis negates (object)

or Con half (see text)

Spell Resistance: Yes (object)

You create a loud ringing note that shatters brittle, nonmagical

objects; sunders a single solid, nonmagical object; or

damages a crystalline creature.

Used as an area attack, destroy with sound shatters nonmagical

objects of crystal, glass, ceramic, or porcelain, such

as vials, bottles, flasks, jugs, windows, mirrors, etc. All such

objects within 3 feet of the point of origin are smashed into

dozens of pieces by the spellsong. Objects weighing more

than 1 lb. per bard level are not affected, but the effect shatters

all other objects of the appropriate composition.

Alternatively, you can target destroy with sound against a

single solid object of up to 10 lbs. per caster level, regardless

of composition.

Targeted against a crystalline creature (of any weight),

destroy with sound deals 1d4 points of damage per caster level

(to a maximum of 10d4), with a Fortitude save allowed for

half damage.

.

Inspire Courage

Enchantment (Charm) [Mind-Affecting, Sonic]

Range: 20 feet

Targets: All allies within range

Duration: See text

Saving Throw: None

Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)

You inspire courage in your allies, bolstering them against

fear and improving their combat abilities. Once the spellnote

has been cast, the bard can continue singing as a free action

each round. While singing, the bard can take any action other

than casting spellsongs, activating magic items by spell completion

(such as scrolls), or activating magic items by magic

word (such as wands). To be affected, an ally must hear the

bard sing for a full round, so the effect begins the round after

the bard uses this note. The effect lasts as long as the bard

sings and for 5 rounds after the singing stops (or the ally can

no longer hear it). Affected allies receive a +2 morale bonus to

saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 morale

bonus to attack and weapon damage rolls.

Songstrike

Evocation [Sonic]

Range: 30 feet

Area: Cone

Duration: Instantaneous

Saving Throw: Reflex half (DC 11 + Charisma bonus)

Spell Resistance: Yes

With a single note, you blast forth a cone of sonic energy

from your mouth that inflicts 1d4 points of damage per three

caster levels (to a maximum of 5d4).

Stun

Enchantment [Mind-Affecting, Sonic]

Range: 50 feet

Target: One creature

Duration: 1 round

Saving Throw: Fortitude negates (DC 11 + Charisma bonus)

Spell Resistance: Yes

You stun a creature for 1 round with a shrieking note.

True Language*

Divination [Sonic]

Range: Personal

Target: You

Duration: 1 round/level

Saving Throw: None

Spell Resistance: No

Producing a long, continuous note, you enable yourself to

be understood by all who can hear you. This spellnote does

not impel anyone to obey what you say, nor does it grant intelligence

to something that normally would not understand

your words (such as a squirrel or a rock). Animals, however,

can understand simple one-word statements (such as danger

or drink) and creatures with a language can understand

as if you spoke to them in their native tongue. Bards of 10th

level or higher using this spellnote also understand words spoken

to them in any language. This spellsong does not enable

subjects to understand unfamiliar written or sign language.

Magic Item Descriptions:

Boots of Speed 12750gp

Staff of Resurrection 15 charges

Wand of Cure Moderate Wounds

Bastard Sword +1 Icy/Shock

Belt of the Mighty Blow

Gem of Seeing (inserted in his left eye socket) covered with a patch

+1 Shield
