Any Online C&C Games Starting Up Soon?

I'd be interested if anyone has an online C&C game starting up early in the new year. I've never played any RPG online so you'll need to tell me what progs I need.
Thanks!

Treebore and some of these other cats on the boards are constantly gaming online. The only problem is that their games appear to be full all the time. Good luck getting in on a game!

My game, which has been running for about 2 years is almost done. We have about 4-6 sessions left to run after Christmas. There will probably be another one with someone in our group starting up a new game (or picking up an old one) probably in Jan (or in Feb when mine is done).
I think Treebore is filled up (on Tuesdays). There may be something on Sunday's, not sure. Check the threads.
I haven't played in a long time (been running my game). If you or someone you know are looking at CKing, I'd be interested, depending on the day and time.
Good luck!

I'll gladly CK after I get some experience with an online game.

I'm interested too, but committing to a real chat game is difficult.
I'd be interested in doing another play by post game.
Not as good as Tabletop or chat (I assume, having not played a chat game) but fills a need. (like iron rations keep you from starving... good analogy?)
um yeah.

It's dead easy with maptool/skype. AGNKim had never run an online game of any type but when I participated in his first online maptool/skype session it went very smoothly.

CKing is pretty straightforward online.
What I would recommend is download both skype and maptools (at rptools.net). Open them up and have a look, click on various buttons.
Then go here and have a look at these videos:
http://www.rptoolstutorials.net/
The key thing with maptools is if you want to just make simple maps, download tokens from google images, and use simple dice rolling commands (e.g. /r 1d20+2 will work, as will [1d20+2] ) you can have an adventure running in half an hour
The one tricky thing with maptools is someone must act as the server. If this person is behind a router, they will need to do some port forwarding so others can connect to their server. Various people here (nwelte, rigon, Lord Seurek maybe) have done this, so they can talk you through it if you have problems
Two things to remember about online gaming: 1) Keep the game moving pretty quickly and 2) Something always goes wrong, in terms of connecting to the server, or skype sounds funny, or someone's mic is not compatible. You just have to roll with it
Have fun with it. I certainly have

I'm thinking of starting a game once I finish school, which will be the first week of April. It will be my first time running an online game, but I don't think it will be too difficult. I'll definitely post here once I get all the details worked out.

You're welcome to check out our online games, either as a full member from the start or as an NPC to get a sense of how the groups work.
We're always happy to have a few good players join us.
The Technical Details
We use Fantasy Grounds II. It's not necessary to buy a copy to join our games.
Download the full version here (not the demo):
http://www.fantasygrounds.com/downloads/ and go through the install process as an Unregistered user.
The Legio Campaign
http://candc.forumotion.com/f6-the-legio-campaign-gmt
We meet at 1700 GMT on Sundays. Usually 2-3 sessions a month. Attendance is not required at each session as the party begins and ends each session at a 'base camp'. This group has been quite popular, so I try to limit the number of players to 6-7.
Each player begins as 1st-level Human. Many classes available, though many have been modified. Emphasis on exploration of underground locales and lots of interaction among party members. Not all encounters are combat and encounters are
not always scaled to party level. Level advancement is slow if you focus on fighting. It's much faster if you can find the scarce treasure.
The campaign is set in an historically-inspired, though still fantasy, Iberia.
The Company of Delvers Campaign
http://candc.forumotion.com/f1-company- ... at-8pm-edt
We meet 8pm EST, one Saturday a month. We try to schedule so that everyone can attend each session.
This was my first online group and they've agreed to meet once a month (instead of weekly) to continue playing together. It's a small group of experienced players (4-5). It's much more of a mid-Fantasy than the Legio campaign-- more PC races, more magic, more fantastical locales, etc. They are currently in the Umeshti Jungles (though this has nothing to do with the Haunted Highlands campaign setting).
Send me a message if you want to know more about signing up.

I just wanted to revive this thread and see if any groups are starting anytime soon or any existing groups that would have room for a newbie?
Best regards,

Since it's been revived, I'll throw my hat in the wish to be playing pile. Any game(s) become available, would love a chance to play, or even to just sit it on a game to see how it's done using skype and maptools. Played around with maptools a long time ago, but never used it in a game situation. I'm sure it's better now.

If any one wants to sit in and listen/watch a game via Skype/MapTools is more than welcomed to when I run my game on Sunday evening. I won't be running it this week due to family obligations. My next session will be 2 weeks from this Sunday on 3/13. Our start time is 7 pm EST and we usually go 3 hours (sometimes longer/shorter - depending on if I blow the party up or not

)
Plus, I play in 2 games (1 every Tuesday and 1 on Sunday's opposite of mine). I know the CKs are pretty good about letting people listen in sometimes. You may want to ask them (nwelte and Treebore).

My regular, online Sunday campaign will have a couple of slots open for guest NPCs. If you'd like to have a look at how C&C looks on Fantasy Grounds II, feel free to take up one of these characters.
The characters will be ready to go with abilities, equipment, a few role-playing notes, a name and an image.
Send me a PM if you're interested. Can't guarantee more than 2 places.
We'll begin at 1700 GMT (UK) on Sunday, but I'd ask that you come an hour early. Game time is usually 3-4 hours, but you can leave when you've had enough.
Follow my download instructions above to use an unregistered (free), but fully functioning, version of the software.

I already dropped a note to LS, but I'll throw in here too.
I'll be able to game off and on until my final out processing and moving back to Ok, except for a few weeks where I have to go back home and test for my teachers certification. I can game Monday - Wednesday. However, I'll be coms down for a while after I move back home (while I build my dream home), so i won't be able to play as a long term player. If this will bump someone that will be able to play in a campaign, I don't want to take their seat, but I am jonesing to game for at least a bit ...
If there are any seats open let me know and I'll start warming up the dice!
