No worries at all Jay. We can run your character from the first game or have him drop in later.

You have half-giant listed and an available class. Where would I find info on that? Is that the one from my DS conversion or do you have another one somewhere?

R-
For half-giant, I just use the best abilities from the half-orc race. And lose the negative aspects of that race. Half-giants are not shunned or negatively regarded in my campaign world.

I don't have your conversion, but would like to see it.

OK, this is what I'm thinking about half-giants:

Racial modifiers = +2 STR, + 2 CON, and +2 to save against fear rolls.
7-8 feet tall.
Move: 35 ft.
Can hurl boulders 100 ft.
Can use 2 handed weapons with one hand.
Any armor, any weapons.
Add 10% to armor costs.

Hmm. How many boulders can I buy/find/have in my possessionat one time and what kind of damage do they do?

Do you have rules for damage of a med weapon in a large sized creatures hands? I used to follow the WOTC Arms and Equipment book for it (there is a table in there somewhere).

Or is being able to use a 2-handed weapon in 1 hand and a shield in the other sufficient?

For Half-Giant, Size is Large ?. For throwing rocks would it be adding Str or Dex to hit?

My character is up, let me know if I got everything right.

You said to pick one or two skills, can we pick one skill with 2 levels in it?

Heh, boulders are heavy so you wouldn't have them in your possession. If you really wanted to carry one with you, I would have to enforce/create encumbrance rules to see how they might affect everything you do.

That said, in some areas boulders/large rocks will be aplenty. Other areas - forest and deserts less so.

Dungeons and ruins most likely will have them.

You'll certainly be able to gather a bunch if you would say be camping out for a night, so that you would have a pile at your disposal.

Large boulders will do 2D6 damage and smaller ones or large rock will do 2D4. In some cases, I'll roll to see if rocks/boulders are available and how many.

Weapon damage per the PH. It might be possible to have a larger weapon forged that could do more damage, but you'll need to find the smith and of course it will cost much more than the standard weapons.

So yeah, a 2 handed weapon and the ability to hold a shield along with bonuses should make you very powerful. :P

I believe STR is the bonus for thrown weapons.

And thanks, I'll have a look at your char!

I'd say that a half-giant could use one in that way, BUT they are not available to you yet (not in the PH or the C&C Arms and Armor guide. In the future you might be able to have one made for you. They will cost quite a bit of gold.

Also, they are quite heavy and although you could use it, you would be very encumbered moving around some areas in a dungeon for instance and/or carrying it around even on your horse.

When you are rich enough to have a wagon perhaps, you could certainly have one handy for say open field/area encounters.

Btw, could you cross post your char sheet over in my other thread? Many thanks.

Also, if you talk to slimy - tell him I sent him a PM here asking him whether or not he intends to join us in the game.

Well, I'm not sure what you mean. I'm thinking you would pick a skill and then of course, your level may help the skill or save involved, i.e. pummeling (bullying skill) would yield a +2 per level. If you're wanting to get +4 and not take another skill then no.

Haha. Indeed.

Anything is possible if your Deities favor you. Magic stones might very be a powerful spell at higher levels. And a dutiful druid might be able to summon or conjure boulders at will!! Hopefully, you will live to get the opportunity to make those prayers!!

According to the description you can keep buying levels in a particular skill, so if i get the bullying skill it gives a +2 no matter what my character class is. You can however keep buying into that skill and raise it by another +2 each time, but can only buy another skill each time your character levels up. So at first level fighter i could take the bullying skill and then when i leveled up to 2nd level fighter i could buy another skill, or bring bullying up to level 2 which would give a +4 to checks.

OK, I see what you're saying.

But, the above assumes you have that much XP, which you don't. My thought was to give you guys 1 or 2 skills for free at 2nd level. Then in the future you would have to buy into higher level bonuses for that skill.

Does that make sense?

I assume, playing a druid, I need to default to the druid list for Armor and weapons. There is a restriction on what they can use. OR, do i get access to all weapons and armor due to half-giant?
