Grogin took all the treasure from his companions' corpses and waited it out until the end of the time allotted. Eventually Banatu arrived and took him back to Etherwick.

Grogin is distraught with losing his friends. Despite having so many items, he feels very empty and alone. It is a loss that will certainly take some time for him to come to grasps with. He envisions once his material wealth is organized and secured, he will probably retreat by himself for awhile. I envision he will probably take some of his coin and drink him self into oblivion for a few ten days. By himself, in the dirtiest of taverns, oblivious to any around him.
Stares of this dirty dwarf, with a piss stained chamber pot on his head are common. Grogin gives it no heed. When he is done drinking for the evening, he gambles. He has no compassion for others. He starts betting on little things. How many drinks a wench will serve a table, how long before a pompous priest passes out. All bets go through the barkeep and owner, Jenks. The only one he as spoken to in about 17 days. No matter. If I dont gamble it away, I'll piss it away, (as long as I dont witness close friends being blown up....)
Day 23. A interest lot walk into the tavern. 3 in number, come in, same number as those that left him alone. Bah, just need another drink. "Jenks, more ale! Hey you three, come over here and wet your lips with ole Groggy...."
(Grogin does nothing important til he eventually meets his soon to be new companions. He will be very reluctant to travel again, much less with others. He is more bitter, vile, foul than before. Seldom does he speak with out slamming a mug of ale in his face; more staining his beard than coating his throat.
Depending on how the direction the campaign takes, Grogin will inform his new allies of what he knows, what he was doing before almost dying, etc, etc)
FYI. I have a social gathering I have to attend next Tuesday, reluctantly. So I am prob gonna be a no show for pretty much the whole session. I can try and log on to see whats on the go for the last hour or so. Works since the three of you will prob be doing char creation or maybe you will eventually meet Grogin and take him in, see above.. *cough cough*
FYI2. I am sure there is tons of stuff in that magic item list that Josh posted that Grogin can't/won't use. He will let his new companions use it (occ give them shit). I haven't looked at the item list yet....
Will talk to a few of you tonight if Ravenloft is a go...

I think we will probably just generate characters next session.
We'll say about a month has passed since they died.

After Grogin gets to Greyhawk and gets Zircan raised at the temple, he gives him all his previous equipment in addition to:
potion of cure serious wounds x2
potion of heroism
potion of longevity
ring of sustanence
holy water x4
He then bids Zircan a farewell for now as he wants to be by himself for a few weeks (See my last post). Grogin will take some potions and the luger from the item list. The following are items will either use to equip any future allies or melt down to coin to buy something he can use:
Grogin tries to locate a magic shop to sell and buy what he can.
Note to Donny and Ryan. If you guys make a PC that can use any of the above, please post and I wont sell it.
EDIT: I removed expert sling +1/+1, expert bullets +1/+1 x38, expert heavy lance +1/+1, long sword +1 (rust resistant)

We also have a lot of coin and gems and jewelry to divide, that wasn't done even before the final encounter.
I advise against ever selling the Elvin Chain Mail. Ever. I'll even trade if for my +3 Full Plate if that's what I have to in order to convince Grogin.
As for the +1 Rust Resisting Sword, that was originally mine, that I gave to the Ranger so he had a magic weapon, so I'd like that back. If a new PC needs it I will give it to them like I did Jederenn.

Once again you arrive at the Guild of Wizardry in the Free City of Greyhawk. Never difficult to find, the dramatic sheer three-sided pyramid and pointed crown rises up from the surrounding buildings of the Clerkburg district. Black adamantine gates surround it and there appears to be no entrance, only a peephole that you could have sworn was not as low to the ground as it was the last time you visited this extraordinary locale. Through the peephole you see an eye staring at you and a familiar sounding voice emanates from within, a dwarf, one of the Porters (a group of dwarves that are responsible for the security of the Guildhall and the University) that allowed you and your companions entrance a few months ago. "State your business", the stern voice tersely demands.

Only other thing I think I should mention is that I got the ring of Sustenance the last time I played Zircan. Its already on my list.
I don't think anything should be sold off until we know what Don and Ryan are going to play.

"Well why didn't you say so?", says the dwarf. "We'll get you there soon as it's ready, hold your position for the moment". With a click the hole disappears and you stand there waiting for several minutes. A familiar sensation comes over you, you begin to feel lite and dizzy as if you are about to faint. Indeed you expect you are about to hit the ground when you reach out your arms in an effort to stop yourself. But in a flinch of movement you suddenly realize that you are no longer standing outside the wall. You recognize the area you are in, it is that same dark room in which you cannot see the walls nor the ceiling but there is a light source coming from somewhere and it is illuminating the area in a stark whiteness, much of this rests on a rectangular wooden table that appears to be quite clean and clear of any items. Behind this table to the left there is a 4 ft. tall, 4ft. wide brass plain looking cube that has no cover. Two of the Porters are standing next to you on each side, they are wearing chainmail and muted purple tunics and each have a ready hand resting over a hammer at the belt. In the distance you hear footsteps on the smooth stone floor coming in your direction. Eventually, a man wearing plain gray robes, of medium build and height, with short cut gray hair and a balding crown appears out of the darkness on the opposite side of the table facing you. A man that you have delt with before... though not directly: Kondradis Bubka, the Mage of Exchange. Looking over the table, his rheumy gray eyes stare down at you.
"As you know, I handle all the magical exchange for the Guild of Wizardry, I am the "stock keeper" of all the Guild's magical items. Before you utter a word of business with the Guild however, I must make sure you are of an "agreeable" persuasion. This will require me to know your mind and to get an idea of which side of the cosmic scale you lean on. He reaches into his robe and pulls out a copper piece and holds it in between his thumb and index finger. A few words of magic are uttered and he begins to rub his finger and thumb against the coin. With a look of concentration he speaks to you in an oddly indirect manner. "Yes, I think we can do business Grogin ... and I am sorry about your friends, a most unfortunate turn of events but one of which proved to be most beneficial for the Flanaess." He lowers the coin and puts it back into the folds of his robe and says,"Right, well what exactly would you like to purchase and what do you have for the Guild this day?"

"Right, well, I have no time for all your magicks and the like. One of your ilk is what kild me friends. I am sure you would rather see the back of me gone from this abode as do I.
A simple exchange. I would like to a few items. A magic holding bag, and a throwing hammer. If I can think straight, there may be more."
Grogin takes out the bag of holding and starts hauling out the following loot:
Wand of magic missles (33 charges)
staff of fire (1 charge)
magic returning gold coin
hand of glory
studded leather +2
scimitar +1
26 svirfneblin gas darts
3 svirfneblin acid darts
expert halberd +1/+1
expert darts +1/+1 x6
composite long bow +1/+3 vs. magical & enchanted monsters
arrow +1 x18
expert arrow +1/+1 x16
scroll: invisibility, slow
"Whats all this rubble worth to ya?"

Kondradis spends the next half hour casting spells and studying; earnestly doing his best to determine the qualities and the value of the items to the Guild. He makes several notes on a scroll and then scratching his head, finally speaks:
The Guild is not interested in the mundane weaponry no matter how low the price. However the wand and staff are of particular value to us. The hand can be a special study in dangerous magic for our students and we would be interested in purchasing that as well. The armor and blade are of a lesser value to us but we can provide you with coin for those. Alas my magic is not able to descern more than five items a day, so I am not able to give you an offer on the coin, bow and arrows until tommorrow. However the scroll I've read and is worth something to us.
We are willing to barter the value of these items towards the two items that you are looking for. We have a hammer that is able to do what you describe and can add great skill to those who wield it in battle, but it is costly, as we just finished enchanting it for Head Porter Darnak Khorshkan and we will have to begin on a new one. We require 20,700 orbs (gold coins) for that item alone. The bags are quite common to us and come in four varieties: 250 lb., 500 lb., 1,000 lb., and 1,500 lb weight capacities. Each costing 2,875 / 5,750 / 8,510 / 11,500 orbs respectively.
However, the value of the items you present to us comes to a total of 18,607 orbs. Can you cover the difference in price?

*Grogin reaches into his sack and pulls out a bag containing gold/silver/copper/electrum pieces and some gems.
"I am sure I can top up the trade in for the holding bag type 2 and a throwing hammer."
* He gives the shop keeper the difference in gems and coin and put the rest back in his bag
"Now, can you mend this stupid hole in me armor?"
*Grogin dumps some coin back in the bag of holding Zircan has for the party and head off to bar with his items secured.
*Whatever the left over items are Josh that he didn't take, let me know. I am going to try and keep an accurate account of whats in the groups bag. The left over items and coin/gems, the group can use when they roll up....

What happened to the Ring of Counterspells? If that is still among the "loot" I'd like it.
Edit: Also, according to my notes that scroll is of SEE Invisibility and Slow, not Invisibility. Important since it may change its valuation.

Kondradis counts the coins and jots down a few final notes on his scroll. Turning around he rolls up his sleeves and reaches down into the large brass cube, pulling out one sack and then another. He lays them on the table and begins to open the larger one. Drawing out a long stretch of red velvet cloth he unfolds it and before you lays a very finely crafted throwing hammer, one that would make any worthy dwarf proud to wield in combat! He explains in short order that when thrown at the enemy, within a distance of about 30 paces, it will return back to the hand that cast it. The other sack he unties and promptly pulls out a bag of cloth that is colored a dark green and gently lays it out, it's actually quite large, 2ft x 4 ft. to be precise.
Just before Grogin is teleported out... The Mage of Exchange quickly says, "As far as your armor is concerned, you would be well advised to go the Artisans Quarter."
