Thanks Rigon. Gotta love those "/" divided to hit modifiers on the weapons. That's old school

I don't feel like I deserve any more weapons because of my Firesword of Encounter Ending.

and my character was the coolest! I did that quadruple-reverse somersault onto the Dragons back from the top of the stairs, and stabbed and slashed it deeply with my 4 (Hasted) attacks, then once the dragon fell, dead, I gracefully slid off of its back like some surfer dude riding a wave, and bowed to my compatriots.

Just call me "Daelin the Dragon Riding Slayer of Coolness!"

I threw my underwear on the stage when he did that!

Fun series of modules Rigon. Facing down 2 adult dragons at the end was a bit dicey but fortunately a) Treebore dealt out a lot of damage and b) Aergraith absorbed a lot of damage. So it all worked out fine ;)

That was indeed awfully cool. I am glad you didn't cry out "Yabba Dabba Doo." It would have spoiled the moment.

Tipping my hat as an intro ;)

Thanks for letting me jump in with you all.

let me know what kind of character you need me to play.

Despite the class I tend to play "good guys" even thieves ... I prefer (depending on the era and the flavor of the game) fighter/thief swashbucklers, Paladins, and cavilers. but I'll fill in where you need. Well except for magic users, ... I've never been good at them ... Clerics yes, MUs not so much ...

Oh yeah, what level and starting equipment do I aim for?

Howdy Lurker. Good to see you again (last I saw you, I was pulling you out of a ant lion nest in Rigon's dark sun game. )

Front liners are good. I think we are around 7th, not sure of the XP total.

We just finished a module series and defeated 2 black dragons at the climax, so who knows what Rigon will throw at us next. Maybe 3 dragons. Maybe the Dallas Cowboys O line. We will see what modules he comes up with.

We need a moral compass that points in one direction, so play a Paladin.

Lurker, play whatever kind of character you like. As to level, 7 if single classed and 6/6 for multi-classed. Be sure to read my house rules. I'll figure out how much money you have to spend on equipment later this week sometime.

Tree and I alternate Mondays and we try to stay to the schedule, but sometimes adjustments need to be made. So, be sure to keep an eye on the boards as this is where we usually post cancellations or changes. Next Monday (Labor Day in the US), is Tree's game.

Welcome aboard.

Wow, has it been that long ... that was back when I was working on my first degree ... Boy I have been wondering in the desert a long long time ...

For front liners, I think I can make that happen.

Tree you know me so well ... However, need and want are 2 different things!

If no one has an issue with a Paladin in the party (I'll play him as a good guy but not a goodie two shoes guy) I'll make one. If you all don't want a Paladin hanging around ... I'll make .... either a ranger, or a fighter thief (swashbuckler). I have free time on Friday, I'll roll all 3 up and have them ready. Hmmmm maybe a Paladin / Caviler ... let me stew on it ... That said, - the rest of the party - let me know if a Paladin is ok with you all, I'll run from there

For house rules, are there others than what is at the start of the thread? I've gone through and read some of them already. If I need to dig else where, let me know. Edit I just saw the link in your signature, I'll look there too

My sig is the most current house rules I use and they have been mostly set for the last 2 mods I've run (which covers most of the last 6 months or so), so I don't for see any major changes being made any time soon. But with the party getting up in levels, I may have to look at Teleport and a few other spells, but will tackle that when we get there.

Lurker, you can a +2 weapon of your choice, a +1 weapon of your choice, armor of your choice (+2 if AC over +5; +3 if under). Also you can have one ring, one cloak, one pair of gloves or boots, One set of gauntlets or a necklace, and 3 potions of your choice. Obviously, don't pick anything like rings of wishes. Post your list and I'll approve or change as needed.

Notes:

Alywine never knew his parents and was raised by his uncle. Gilford De' Mershyll

Sir Gilford, wasted the family money & paid little attention to his own children (3 boys & 2 girls) and less attention to Alywine

Glaedes De' Mershyll, Gilford's wife, was a vain petty shrew of a woman. She was over proud of her children ( not from love, simply self pride) and so despised Alywine.

However, or because of the way the uncle and aunt treated him, he was exceptionally close to his cousins. He trained with them and the family's sergeants and huntsman in the marital skills. Additionally, the town's cleric and the family's chaplain saw a uniqueness in him that led them to train him in the holy arts.

At the age of 17, when it was ready to take the trials to earn his knighthood, and encouraged to do so by Sir Farald, the duke that was the De Mershyll's liege lord, Gilford sold Aly's armor and horse, so he could not officially participate. However, even without armor and with only a staff, he was able to best 2 squires and hold his own against one of the duke's newest knights. With this success, the duke released him from any family obligations and loaned him a horse. The local church gifted him an old sword and bettered armor.

With his release form his familial obligations, Aly traveled as a knight errant (though he did not have a title) through the Isles for a few years. Improved his loaned arms and armor (and paid back the duke and the church for the loans and gifts) and even earned a unique war horse from a clan of 'good' Firblogs (for leading a militia band against a group of marauding ogers and larger goblinoids that were giving the local giantkins a bad reputation).

After a few years Aly left the isles and traveled to the mainland. There he has adventured through the sword coast and the frozen north.

During his travels and adventures along the long road, Aly has befriended a group of elves (who gifted him the elven cloak & boots), and a ranger and cleric of Mielkki - she gave him the ring of warmth.

Despite his success at adventuring, Aly has refused to accept a title (will only accept it from Duke Farald if/when he returns the the moonshe Islands) and is alos a 'poor' errant. He habitually sends his tyths and gifts to the church and also sends money back to the De' Mershyll children - in secret so that his uncle and aunt do not know about it - so that the sons can become knights &/or escape the poor finincal decisions of their father and the daughters have a viable dowery &/or can affor to train and school themselves and improve their lote.

As a poor erant, his cloths and gear is always well cared for, but 'travel worn and thread bare'. A condition most knights could not accept, but Aly sees it as a way to remind him to be humble. Also, with the poor conditions he precents, commoners and servents tend to be more open and accepting of him than they can be of other 'arragant and self improtiant' knights.
