Great game last night Epic fight with the giants! Though, Lupa did feel a bit alone with just him and dardo out on the right flank, looking around wondering where was his half orc barbarian friend ...

I will admit, yet again, that I need to have better understanding of my cleric spells, but I do think I did better in this fight with the spells than before. Just wish that one giant failed his save before he thumped the dwarf. To bad you can't use luck points to make the monster's save harder ... Oh well the ranger and the dwarf took care of the 2 giants soon enough even without my command/sleep help

It wouldn't have been so epic if I hadn't rolled those 3 or 4 nat 20s.

But that is what makes the story good, and the game fun

You know, I just thought of something ... 1 fireball cast in the fight ... however doesn't someone have a spell book open to delayed blast fire ball so they can cast it 5 times a day locked up safely in the duke's keep ???

Sorry to do this on such short notice, but I've been fighting a head cold all day and thought I'd be able to run tonight, but I can't breath and my head feels like someone is trying to kick their way out. I'm going to cancel, take a lot of cold medicine, and go to bed early.

I was able to sleep through most of the night. My brain no longer feels like it wants to kick its way out of my head, but still hard to breath. This thing came on quick and is a bitch. A lot of the kids and some of the adults in thebuild have it too, so we are sharing the love.

I've been fighting mine for going on 2 weeks. Sinus headache won't go away. Would have liked to play, but rest was probably better for some of us.

Rgr, the worst of mine was Sat night ... I was so wiped out from a night of coughing and such that I couldn't go to church at all and spent hours on end in bed dreading the net coughing fit . But that was the worst, so I was on the up swing yesterday. That said, I did need the rest ...

Hope everyone gets better and can play net week. Have a good one

I still think you guys should have just rushed that valley. You wouldn't have any problems with 1000 hobgoblins.

940 Hobgoblins, now.

Yes, I agree that we could "defeat" 940 NORMAL Hobgoblins. As was brought up several times last night, its the Hob Goblin leaders and spell casters that can make it bad for us.

That's assuming there are spellcasters...

hidy ho up the middle we go is never a good plan unless you outnumber the enemy by at least 3 to 1 - last night's us against 50 hobs is an example, but even then we used good tactics

See above note, and YES there are spell casters in with them !!!!! With the scrying type magic it would have taken to see us figure a 9th level cleric/witch doctor or a 7th level MU. Plus, from our little swaray at their temple/ziggurat we know the main cleric had at least 3 helpers. Then there are the other 2 or 3 tribes, they will have more spell casters of their own ... the worse case scenario is they also have some demon back up that their evil god sent to help them whomp on us for messing up the sacrifice they were going to make to him ...

That said, GREAT game last night! 50 arrows raining down and Lupa gets a mere scratch, Bagrleg and Gravelbeard wade into the fray slaying Hobs left and right (literally) seplls going off and taking out whole swaths of them and the archers raining down death. .... and the cleric rolls a 1 on his charge attack and bumbles around with his flail losing cool points ;)

Hay wait, why wasn't Barleg the bait for the trap/ambush ... with his ring, their volley of arrows would have automatically missed .... Lupa like being the cool looking center of attention, but still ... lets remember that for the next ambush or 2 (before the Hobs get smart and use improved modified tactics)

I am assuming Tree will not be all the way home today (or having just gotten home) when the game starts. Based on that assumption, I am also assuming that I am running my game tonight.

Just got an IM from him (regarding my Victorious character) and it sounded like he'd get home Wednesday or so. Soooo, rgr on assuming it is your game this week.

That said, I just logged onto Skype and it did an auto update. So if anyone is having issues with Skype, check for the update. If you aren'st using windows I guess you'll have to force it to update ...

Yeah, I am FINALLY heading home. Drove until late last night, took a shower, and passed out. So from my end I am glad I didn't miss the great Hobgoblin battles/war.

Thanks Lurker. It's her depression and the time of year. It just seems to be a little bit rougher this year.
