It's a mix, geography plays a large part in what gods a person grew up worshiping, so where you come from can justify whatever you like. Predominantly in Tremaine, Germanic, Celtic, and Greco-Roman are the most present, with Germanic being the largest influence - probably about 40% of the city worships within that pantheon. 20% Greco-Roman, 15% Celtic, 10% are non-religious, with the remaining 15% being a complete mixed bag.
Lets see, Karl Jacob Garimm , son of Wilhelm Garimm, a member of a Lay Order founded in the Spessart Mountains, what would he worship ;)

Germanic it is :D

This is a mostly finished map for the city of Tremaine, I might add some additional details to the dock area (right now it's basically just there to note it exists at the moment). But beyond that it's is pretty functional. None of the swamps surrounding the forest are really visible in this one since all focus is centered more completely on the city. because we are dealing with a larger scale more details are evident, particularly when dealing with roof color (which act as a guide for the city), and with some details for the trees, whether it's to distinguish between orchards or odd groves of flowery trees that grow in an unnatural shape.

Now, a color guide for the city:

All of the building's in this map have been color coded according to the purpose they serve or who lives in them.

White: Administrative buildings or Temples- so court houses, city hall, the guard house, and churches are represented by this color. There are 3 exceptions to this, most specifically among the temples, and these are temples that serve the city (or are a detriment) greater in other ways. You should be able to note the cluster of temples in the north west section of the city, almost all of the large buildings depicted there are churches regardless of their color. Three of the temples do business of other sorts on such a scale that they bore marking with a different color, these will be mentioned in the sections they fell under.

Light/lemony Yellow: Most of these structures belong to the average blue collar or middle class members of the city, several of the larger buildings with this color denote apartment complexes rather than any large single family home.

Golden Yellow: These are homes/businesses owned by Merchants of all different trades and practices. Not to be confused with Inn's or Taverns, this color purely refers to those individuals that carry specific goods, rather than a general store. Some of these could be specialty food stores certainly, but only those that either carry the exotic or cater spoecifically to the rich for example. Otherwise, you can assume that these are buildings that belong to craftsmen, artisans, shipping companies, or in the case of the large stuctures down next to the river those are open markets ran by shipping companies and start up businessmen. There is a temple that is also noted in golden yellow, as it is dedicated to a god of wealth and often functions as a bank for the city.

Brown: These are agricultural workers, whether they be farmers, herders, basic foragers, and basic butchers. Many have old, well maintained homes that have been in their families for generations, or that have been given to them a gifts by the wealthy for running their fields and orchards. They are almost a social caste of their own in this town as the limited farming land forced them to excel at their practices and the city is well aware of it's dependence on them for most of their food supplies.

Army green: These houses tend to be harder to spot on the map, but these are the homes of Woodlands specialists, or people who do specific forms of wet work. Here you will find your scouts, rangers, hunters, some adventurers, and others who specialize in that sort of field. There are not many of these people, with the largest consentration of them being along the rivers to the north west of the city and in the neighborhood to the north of the docks.

Purple: These are buildings of note for outsiders, Inns, Taverns, bars, and homes of the famous and noteworthy for reasons beyond wealth. In these homes you will find the heroes and complicated figures of the city that you will quickly hear about if you spend any amount of time talking to people in the city. There is a temple noted in this color due to it being a location where an actual Miracle is known to have been performed a few centuries ago. There are many people of it's faith who travel to the temple on pilgrimages .

Blue: These are homes or dedicated establishments owned by the wealthy. Some are larger than others and the largest congregation of them is to the south of the city in their own district which is very well landscaped and maintained unlike most other parts of the city.

Red: This color notes low income housing, high crime, and dangerous or abandoned buildings. Most of the small homes you see are a mix between being abandonned or lived in by people just barely getting by. Most larger structures are either abandonned or have a bad history that have caused them to be marked down as dangerous. Whether that is because they are occupied by gangs, ghosts, or other infestations, no one really knows. It seems everyone has a different story to explained an abandoned structure and it is up to the listener to decide which take they believe. There is a temple noted in this color as it has been officially abandoned for about two decades. It is the church the last undead breakout spawned from, and all of it's clerics and paladins died trying to keep the city safe from the graveyard it oversaw. The figure known as the Queen of the Dead, the Necromancer that ended that crisis, is the only person known to still frequent it's walls. She often encourages people to leave flowers or tokens in thanks to the people that perished holding back the undead. No one knows what she does within the abandoned temple, but it has been kept in immaculate condition despite it's years of disuse.

The grey patches: These are graveyards and mausoleum "cities". All of them are walled in with specific points of entry and exit. No one except grounds keepers wander them at night, and visiting is limited during day time hours.

The map is oriented oddly unfortunately (I though I had re-oriented it). For purposes of following my directions make sure to note that the riverbank opposite of tremaine is in the intended south east corner of the map. Or basically, just rotate it 90 degrees to the left to orient it properly.

There are going to be some of you that will have been in Tremaine for some time before the game starts. It could be because you have been dutifully scouting for an organization you work for, or you landed here with a boat a few weeks ago, or perhaps you were born here, but it is up to. For those who decide they actually know a little bit about the city of Tremaine here are some basic figures almost everyone knows about at the time of the campaign. These are most likely in order of how you heard about them:

Heavy Hitters:

Queen of the Dead Also known as Bella Hein: A hero of the city and the priestess in the city of the Dead god - Baldur. She is most known for solving the last undead outbreak that wiped out the local temple to Tyr. She keeps their temple in perfect condition and encourages the people to remember the temple - and it's deceased keepers- fondly and with respect. Despite her outwardly benevolent nature, her name is spoken with fear as often as it is spoken with respect.

The Painted Prince: A half elf Magician who is known for granting wishes. He holds the rowdiest parties in Tremaine where every common man is invited and the wealthy have to beg to be admitted. He loves performing at these gatherings and will drink until the sun rises alongside anyone who buys him a shot. He is equally loved and hated by the populace, as his deals have ruined more than one life. He remains unaffected and seems determined to live life in the fast lane. No one is sure where his wealth comes from, or even the man himself as he seemed to appear overnight.

Mama: Bridget T'dian, Bride of The Painted Prince. She is an immensely powerful woman with bright red hair, glowing skin, and green eyes. There are many rumors that she is fey, and no one knows why she is married to the Prince with his partying (and likely wandering) ways. She is sure of herself, and many people can come to her for help without worry of the cost. People are known to give the Painted Prince whiskey with peppers in it to give her (as only those in need can find her) on their behalf, as it is known to be her favorite drink. Those who have seen The Prince and Mama together never speak poorly of them, but do say the looks Mama gives her husband could freeze a lesser man solid.

Captain Fleet: Also known as Gabriel Fitte, this halfling pirate has captured the heart of the people of Tremaine. He has lived in the city for several decades and is it's staunch defender from outside influence. He has successfully defeated at least two naval fleets that were sailing on the city and has an entire week dedicated to him every year in celebration. He recently has renamed it to Flam's Week in honor of his recently killed First Mate Lucien Flamburg. He and his crew are still openly mourning their loss.

First mate Slaughter: Also known as Joan Davida, this She-wolf is the new First Mate to Captain Fleet. She has long been a member of his crew and was practically raised by Lucian, with his recent passing she was the obvious choice for his replacement. She is easily the deadliest member of Fleet's crew and is loyal to a fault. She has been known to gut those who insult her captain, and he has been known to do the same for her.

The Fontaine family:

The "Cotton" King Alexander Fontainne: The head of the Fontainne family due to the recent passing of his parents out at sea, Alexander has recently been crowned the "Cotton" King. This is a title his head of family has held for centuries due to their founders success with their first cash crop. Occasionally they still grow cotton, but they have since diversified. The Fontaine family is reknown for being the wealthiest and most influential in Tremaine, and it is considered wise to have any business ventures approved by them.

The Queen of Spades Alexandra Tremaine: The twin sister to Alexander, she only holds the title of Queen until her brother marries. She is frequently courted due to her social standing and the fortune her dowry promises to be, but no one has been lucky enough to win her heart. Though she is not the canny business man her brother is, she still serves the family faithfully and well.

The Knight AKA Roderick Kline: *Particularly interesting for Les's character* Roderick Kline is a relatively new but noteworthy member of the Fontaine's servants. He is the first member of the Brotherhood to leave it's ranks without either dying in the line of duty, or properly retiring when no longer serviceable in the field. Roderick Kline instead sent in his resignation, saying he had found more fulfilling employment. This was a massive surprise to his organization, and many have been wondering if he has sold out to their enemies. Les's character is allowed to investigate as he desires by his organization, though that is not the primary reason for his placement in Tremaine. Kline was a very capable member of the brotherhood and should not be taken lightly.

Citizen's of particular standing or role:

Judge Regis Stemp: It takes a special kind of man to preside over a city like Tremaine, and Regis Stemp has risen to the challenge. He has been in place for a decade after the prior judge was assassinated and done his best to administer what justice the city allows him to give. He uses the gifts of his people (owl-like avorial elves) to avoid what assassins have been sent against him, and is a being of stern moral fiber. In general the populace respects him, with exception to the more criminal groups.

Head Hog AKA Chief Damien Cove: Head of the City Guard, this dwarf is beloved by few. He is a good man by most people's measure, but in Tremaine few people enjoy seeing the guard around their neighborhood. Damien is not known for being the greatest fighter, or being the most politically savvy individual, but his investigatory skills are of such note that when he was promoted no one complained. It is not often the people of Tremaine allow him to practice his skills unhindered- most prefer to take care of grievances themselves, but when they have become desperate enough to search for answers through the guard, Damien Cove has always pulled through.

Gentle Hands AKA Torin Melic: This gnome is protected by almost everyone in the city. He is one of the very few healers in Tremaine, and the only one to come without a price tag. No matter your standing, Torin will heal any who come to his clinic to the best of his ability. People donate what they can to him, and the wealthy have been known to take care of his rent when needed out of respect for his position. He has been seen recently in mourning clothes and occasionally openly weeps. Some laugh it off and say it's due to his soft heart, but even that doesn't fit right with them, he is well respected and the people sympathize with whatever loss he is dealing with even in this hard town.

Lower Class Figures:

Creve Couer aka Virre Noir: Perhaps the most coveted woman of the night in Tremaine, Creve Couer mingles with the everyone in the city. She is the Madame of the most popular house of ill-repute in the city and rich and middling come to her doors for the entertainment she has to offer. Whether it's to see her girls shows or to spend a night, Virre Noir's presence makes everyone feel more at ease. Her smile can melt away the stress of the day and leave you a better man than you were. This elven beauty is always happy to spend some time with you for the right price or make sure one of her girls will do the trick. In the grand scheme of things she probably knows more about what goes on in the city than most, and is a staunch supporter of the arts, all of her money is constantly spent sponsoring new artists or taking care of the girls she presides over.

Dream AKA Dianthe Dawar (deceased): Dream has become one of the most talked about figures in the town as of late, unfortunately, this fame has only come about because of her murder and not because she was finally recognized for her talents. Dream was a changeling, and used her powers to cater her "goods" to a far wider clientele than any other woman of the night would dare. No one spoke poorly of her, and due to her specialty clients, she was relatively well looked after. She did not just transform herself into whatever you dreamed, she would also agree to turn into someone you were missing, and those exchanges usually had far less to do with passion than they had to do with closure and saying goodbye, or recounting glory days with a long gone friend. While everyone feels fondly about Creve Couer, Dream was a wish come true to her clients. She was loved by the people for the type of healing she could provide and her death is a wound in the community. Few know much about her beyond what she did for them on a personal level.

Hunter/Gator AKA Skald: You haven't heard much about him other than if you need something from the swamps, or need to get through them, then he's the guy you want to talk to. He'll either take care of you himself or point you to someone who can.

Again NICE !!!!

With the few weeks I've been there, outside of doing chores to earn a bowl of soup and a crust of bread and a place to sleep, I would focus on Queen Bella Hein - to see if she is receptive or supportive of the Brotherhood's Peace-Givers, Judge Stemp, and Chief Cove - Seeing if they will mind me hunting in their city and if there are any they say are out of bounds to hunt. Mostly at first finding their main servants etc and seeing what it takes to see them in person, what they would expect for assistance or giving me the time to talk, or if they need a hunter's skills.

After I hear of Master Melic, I'll try to meet him and start trying to find out what/who he morns for.

For Brother Klein, I'm keeping my distance for now. I'm way to small a fish to swim in his circle. If I hear rumors that may change things, especially if they sound like he is going to be an issue for the Brotherhood's starting to move into the city. but for now ...

That said, I would assume the party's changing will be drawn to eventually trying to find Mistress Dawar's killer or information about her, so I'll be ready to switch to hunting her killer.

Oh yeah, I've been assuming the weather is a New Orleans S Louisiana type weather. However, I want to make sure. Cotton can grow in moderately colder climates, so the swamp are could be cooler than the Big Easy wx.

Think South Carolina Low Country for the weather, except with slightly harsher winters. Basically you can expect snow once or twice a year but no long term freezes, and the summers are just as humid as the New Orleans summers. So you are pretty dead on.

Sorry I didn't make the game last night. I spent 3 and a half hours after school moving 20-something 4 ft by 10 ft setting flats and the 20-something support legs from our stage to the annex building (where the production room is) by myself. I was exhausted and sore.

I believe it is this game this week

Sooooo, how is a witch hunter going to deal with meeting the 'Painted Prince' ? ... Someone he expects is a magic wielding mafia leader.

At least he isn't stupid, and wants to establish a working relationship for the brotherhood of shadow hunters with the power brokers in the city, so it shouldn't go to far sideways. However, meeting a criminal leader from a point of weakness is never a good idea ...

Sorry about dropping like that. A TStorm with a good gust front hit and I lost coms.

Well Karl getting snookered is an option but not there in The Prince's area. To may demons devils and the like in the shadows there for a Shadow Hunter to relax his guard. If you all stayed there then he would have faded into the crowd and worked his way around and out of the area into the slums.

Again sorry I dropped ... one day I'll have decent connectivity, I swear !
