Yeah, if everyone is going to be an elf, or half elf, I will have to change how I was going to start things off (Ie you won't start out in Outremere) and then see if I can come up with a reason why elvs would get involved in what is going on in the Highlands, which if I am remembering things correctly will be easy. I'll reread the Highlands material to day to be sure.

Hi Treebore.

Lunar Knights - page 198

Fontenouq forest - page 88

Map, south central Erde - page 156

Btw, this is just for some flavor and background, feel free to keep us in Outremere if it fits your campaign and thoughts for the Highlands and such. But otherwise, anything you want to do will be perfectly OK with me.

[Nearby to the Fontenouq is Frieburg, where Lion in the Ropes takes place. But I'm moving that adventure to the Outremere area - just because, most of my mods and adventures will feed off of Yggsburgh and the Blacktooth Ridge area.]

I was planning on playing a human paladin, but if we need a cleric I can do that instead. I'm okay with an all-elf party, if that's what you guys want to do.

Are we making characters together tomorrow night or should have have one ready to go beforehand?

Tree, I'll send you my character's info/backgroud later this evening, when I have it typed up.

You can wait until tomorrow or you can prepare what you want ahead of time.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Enough elves stayed, and performed heroic deeds, some critical to the eventual defeat of Unklar, that not everyone hates elves, but don't be surprised if you play an elf and merchants refuse to do business with you, charge you a lot more than anyone else, or kick you out of their place of business.

Friends of elves can expect similiar treatment. So keep that in mind if your thinking of playing an elf.

Yep, some good points. And by now, you may have read the section on Lunar Knights. They are the ones who stayed to fight Unklar and his minions. So perhaps the common Aihrdian citizen/commoner would know and recognize these elves by their silver cloaks. And as such, be give the proper respect and courtesy. [Your call, of course].
[Still catching up on all these posts]

Your in Rhu. Welcome. Hope I don't disappoint ya.

As for deities, if you have the Erde stuff, great. If not you can use Norse gods. In fact, I would prefer Norse gods, the only Erde god I really like to use is St. Luther. Plus Unklar. This game isn't meant to, at this time anyways, to involve Unklar, much. Meaning I don't intend on making him the focus.

Now if you guys insist on sticking your noses into Unklars business, well, we'll see.

Thanks. I'm sure it will be great. As to Unklar, I agree and do the same in my campaign. His presence and followers are around, but he is not. My guess is, he may make an appearance in A12 or A13 (if one is following the A series).

Having said that though, my character will always be preparing, fighting and otherwise doing battle with all evil and any of Unklar's minions!

Guys,

It is with great regret that I must bow out of this campaign. My computer at home took a nose dive, and there's no telling when I'll get it up again. Please have fun and I'll look forward to reading about your adventures.

Respectfully,

Ink

That sucks! Do the big splurge and just buy a new one on your way home tonight. You know you want to.

Besides, the game doesn't officially start until next Monday, when Rigon can join.

Tonight is more of a test run and to straighten everything out.

See if you can make it happen by then.

Well, I want to stay on the continent of Outremere, and since the Lunar Knights are a very mobile order I see no problems with getting your character involved with the Highlands.

Besides I am having to alter the history of the Highlands as written in the modules to fit into Erde and the region I want it in.

So its easy for me to deal with.
I'm fine with you having a cloak that gives you a +5 to hide checks that allows you to treat it as if you have the relevant stat as a Prime, even if you don't. While in the woodlands. In towns etc... you lose the +5, but still get to make the Hide check as a Prime. Good enough?

Sorry to hear this, Ink. Wish I could help ya, I specialize in healing and resurrecting dead computers. I've just last week raised my daughter's dead computer and brought it back to life - what a feeling of power!!!

[Heh, of course I've been doing this as a hobby and profession for 22+ years, so I should be able to do this].

If you want to post (or PM) some of the info on what happened, I might be able to make some suggestions.

[And as Tree mentioned, you may want to think about a new one - I bought a new vista box at Best Buy and the hardware really kicks ass]

Oh yeah for sure, I wouldn't want to unbalance anything, but as you've mentioned, your experience at CK/DM 'ing will handle it. Thanks.

I'll try to get my char gen info to ya ASAP, but sorry it probably won't be tonight.
See ya online soon.

I have sat here for 19 minutes now waiting for people to remember they are supposed to be on SKYPE right now so I can start the conference hook ups.

I will twiddle my thumbs until I can't stand it and then go do something else. I'll leave SKYPE running, though.

Glad we got everything worked out. I enjoyed the session and hopefully the good vibe I got from all of you means we'll have a nice long on line "speaking" game.

Until next week then.

Again, this program is very impressive. I'm going to pick up another web cam to see the performance under SKYPE. I've used them before and they were OK to good, but with today's power in software, hardware and broadband speed, I expect the results to be superior.

Let me know if any of you have web cams and we can test them at some point.

[I suppose if we all have 'em, it could eliminate the need for whiteboards or other software. Tree can draw a quick sketch and show it too the camera. Hmm, or perhaps draw it online and have the webcam project it to all of us]

I do not have a web cam.

As to whiteboards, we should probably try one of the available (free) programs first. We did not really give the program connected to Skype (talk and write??) a full run, so we could try that. It seemed pretty sluggish the first time, but that could have been something done wrong at our end. I don't think that would allow importing tokens though. It may or may not allow importing gifs scanned from modules. Tokens are not crucial anyway. The one at rptools.net allows scanning, I think, and also "fog of war". This is a handy trick which allows you (the CK) to slowly open up the map to the players. So the CK sees the whole thing, but to the players they just see the first passage and 2 doors.

Unfortunately, such scanned maps often leave a big "32b"written on the floor of the room. . Truly the gods of this realm are organized!

I am still trying to get my mind around the idea that fabled Greyhawk is just across the bay, waiting for intrepid adventurers. Fortunately, Orlan is not at all intrepid at this point. Not when his total armor is a puffy shirt! And a smile

Yeah ditto.

It's neat that the two are connected.

ITs to the east of the Blacktooth Ridge and the mountains behing the ridge. Strangely, the lands "over there" think you guys live in some great burning sands type of area.

Well fellas, one down, two to go. From the responses of the audience, the first show went extremely well. I haven't been able to take any pics yet (I do all/most of the heavy lifting backstage and haven't been able to even watch the performance).

Tree, thank your daugther for the excellent rendition of Fynn. She is a very talented girl.

We finally had the first actual session of gaming. IT went almost as good as being at a table together.

Plus its great sound quality is an awesome alternative to phones with friends and family with computers/on-line access.

We definitely need to spread the word.
