I'd be cool with a Paladin. My character is a N/G Knight of the Sword who is a member of an Order that fights and beleives in truth, justice, etc... You could even be a fellow member.

I just joined up as a tinker gnome rogue. Details to follow, I guess. I'm looking forward to next Sunday! Gotta create the character, brush up on the rules and download SKYPE in the meantime.

It'll be nice to join your peril

Hehe, come on. You know you want to be a 3rd gnome in a D&D game. This will most likely set some records at Guinness!!

I've set up a Resource Site for our game.

That way, you all can have everything gathered under one roof.

Oh, your XPs are there as well

I'm up to CKing this evening. I hope everyone makes it today. IE no broken down cars, last minute dinner dates, etc...

Especially since I believe Rigon won't be able to play next week.

Look for the e-mail I sent everyone. It has a rough map to help with the main encounter tonight.

I'm good to go. Also, Tree, the map is kind of hard to read. Do you have a larger version you could send. If not, don't worry, I'll play around with my photoshop/paint programs to make it bigger.

The map is actually of a village in Kenya, but it works for what we need to do tonight. Yeah, if you have paint open it up in there. I find it easy to enlarge, etc...

But the Vista Paint is a bit "user friendlier" than the XP version.

Damn I thought game night was every other Sunday.... Looks like I will miss another session.

As for this Sundays game, if it is on, I still need to get my character rolled. Will do this week.

What is the group looking for in terms of needed classes?

Great game/session. But I'm sorry I didn't get to combat with my AC 24 and +7 BtH for a couple of rounds.
Of course, it was nice to drop in like helicopters and jump of our gryphonsf and stand ready to battle! Dramatic scene.

That Rod of Rulership is definitely very powerful in the right circumstances. Which is what it was tonight. Good thinking guys, and gal.

I was thinking about that last night. I think we could use that one item to breeze through most encounters. And I think we found it at the beginning of our endeavors, so we could have used it from low levels onward!

Here is an option I thought of: stealing from the SRD d20. They have a chart for the exercise of the diplomacy skill (something I am generally not a fan of) that looks like this:

Use the table below to determine the effectiveness of Diplomacy checks (or Charisma checks) made to influence the attitude of a nonplayer character, or wild empathy checks made to influence the attitude of an animal or magical beast.

Initial Attitude New Attitude (DC to achieve)

Hostile Unfriendly Indifferent Friendly Helpful

Hostile Less than 20 20 25 35 50

Unfriendly Less than 5 5 15 25 40

Indifferent Less than 1 1 15 30

Friendly Less than 1 1 20

Helpful Less than 1 1

(Ignore the fact that none of this lines up at the moment. See here for the actual chart)

Attitude Means Possible Actions

Hostile Will take risks to hurt you Attack, interfere, berate, flee

Unfriendly Wishes you ill Mislead, gossip, avoid, watch suspiciously, insult

Indifferent Doesnt much care Socially expected interaction

Friendly Wishes you well Chat, advise, offer limited help, advocate

Helpful Will take risks to help you Protect, back up, heal, aid

My idea is to have a Lesser Rod of Rulership move you 2 spaces on the chart. So actively Hostile foes will become Indifferent, Indifferent will become Helpful and so on. This makes the Lesser Rod more of an 'escape hatch' in hostile situations, and more of persuader when you are trying to get the Duke's court to go along with your scheme.

You could even have a special rule that in the hands of a true bard or knight, the rod can move 3 places on the chart. Or if there is a bard or a knight on the other side, they might be able to help others resist it.

Then again, since we do not have one of these 'Lesser'rods, we are still on easy street.

I'll be there! Fligg's all rolled up (no extraordinary stats, but no real sucky ones either). I got snagged on equipping him. A gnome with a 9 STR doesn't have much room for gear, encumberance-wise
