OK, I read it over and it looks good. I like your weapon names, especially "Corpse's Fist" and "Wolf's Fear".
If you become a permanent resident of Ravenloft I'll have to work up a history for them.
Thanks good to hear you liked the names ....... permanent........ NOOOOOO
It was a VERY BAD DAY at work & by the time I left I was in a haze so forgot my Maxtor. My Pal is in it so can't post him completely.
Here is the key info; Bastard Sword Undead Bane, Short Sword Were Bane, Heavy Mace of Disruption +3 & x2 damage to Undead. Armor +3 Shield +1 or 2 I can't remember.
Magic Haversack with x5 each -Holy water, cure L wound, cure M wound cure s wound heal and the big one -I believe restoration- also oil rope & pipe tobacco. -I've learned in real life it helps to get help from the locals if you offer a good smoke & a smile-

1st we find a defensible area in the town most likely the Church- I will Hallow the area and we can set up some defenses here. If we become separated we meet back here in town.
The town church is already defended to the best of an 8th clerics ability. So it should be easy for you to improve upon that, and take little time
That sounds like a good start to me. It will be the best safe house the area can provide but I don't think it will hold off the bad guys for long if we dally there. I know my Pal can't help a lot on the spell side.
Quote:
With the use of Spell scrolls such as Mass heal Sunburst heal ect we have a shot at eradicating Strahd in an instant thereby circumventing his Gaseous form ability.
Good ideas.
I'm rusty on my spells so I'll leave that to the cleric & MU
Quote:
I suggest that the longer we stay in the keep the greater the chance that we will never leave it alive
This seems to have been proven true of past groups.
Speed will be a key. Get in do the deed & get out quick. If we get in over our head no heroics do a fighting withdraw to the safe house & regroup for try 2.
Quote:
Oh- I am also thinking we will need to find a stronghold within the castle and Ill perform the Hallow again and make it safe for us perhaps the Chapel.
The chapel will be the only safe place. I don't know if it is even that safe but it might give us a breather for a bit.

We can also offer Strahd something he dearly lacks Life. As a Cleric of Frey I feel that this may be an opportunity to right the wrongs that fate contrived for Strahd- We offer to resurrect him and use ture resurrection on the Love he lost- his Elizabeta (As Dracul was to Elizabeta so Strahd was to that other woman- I forgot her name.
That is something that has never been tried before. An intriguing idea for sure.
I like the poetic feel of that. Again I'm not sure how well it will work -he is VERY EVIL & spent a long time in the corruption made of his evil- but I'd like to give it a try. To bad we won't have a Bard that might help sway him. I guess my Paladin (with high Chrisma) will have to fill in I'm glad he is Glyn & has the heart of a Celt so lets hope I can spin a good yarn of life......

Wulfgarn After reading the "House rule" posting I had an idea.
If you get the +3 to turning, & really even if you don't, lets make it SOP when facing different kinds of undead you start turning at the harder high level ones & I'll turn the low level cannon fodder. I'll then go into the fray if they close. If our turning put them on their heels I'll keep turning.
With my mace of disruption I'll be able to wallop on the low and mid level ones easy. The good thing about the mace is that it can kill multiple low level UD with 1 swing.

nwelte1 gave a list of people in the Fridays group last Wednesday. I thought you were in the group as well. Here it is:
2 fighters - nwelte1 and Lord Seurek
2 clerics - Wulf, and spakman (is spak still in our group?)
1 Palidin - Lurker
1 wiz - Deuce Travler
and whatever Danger Dwarf is going to be...
I played with spakman on the weekend and I think he said that he was in the Thursday group. That leaves 6 plus yourself is 7.
Treebore, can you confirm the people in this group?
Can we all get together Thursday on Skype and OpenRPG for a test run People?
Rob.
Hmm since spak man is out this is what we have
1 fighter - Lord S.
1 cleric - Wulf
2 Palidans - me and Lurker
1 wiz
and then Danger dwarf
that make three turners... I also bought a wand of cure wounds.

Well I am very light on coin - it is going to cost a min of 7000 gold just for the mats for 2 hallows and an True resurrection - if we can seduce Strahd back from the darkness born of loss.
so any coin out there to help aid in the cause - I cannot afford to buy either a staff of life or a staff of healing on my own- WE NEED A STAFF OF LIFE - so please pony up people so I can buy it

WE NEED 2 Clerics- I will not be putting all my coin into "Party" healing magics ---
PLease be aware of that - I am also A COMBAT Cleric and will use my abilities to defeat and or sway Strahd- I am not a Medic - though I will be boosting and healing members of the group- we need 2 CLerics

As a person who is also playing a cleric and looking into strategies, I just wanted to point out the casting time on the Hallow spell of one day. Seems a challenging task to take on in a dangerous environment.
I don't know how Treebore generally runs his games, but a lot of the important cleric spells for this sort of mission have lenghty casting times. Beware... and good luck!

I hope your in the Thursday group and just reading this thread because its a good idea. I am trying to figure out where Dyne is supposed to be, and its apparently not this group.
I may have to allow 7 players in a group.

Anyone know what the attribute modifiers are for Ability scores over 19?
If I read the strength Mod on pg 105 of M&T under Belt of Giant Strength, it lists:
19 +3
20 +4
21 +4
22 +5
23 +5
24 +6
Is this true for all ability mods such as Con or Dex?

A question that comes up in my gaming circle at times. Is it ok to wear a set of gauntlets while also wearing heavy armor. This ok?

Yes, gauntlets are a piece of heavy armor so your just essentially switching out one for the other.

Cool. My 9th level fighter is done. Once I get the ok from Robert, I'll post it here for everyone to see. And yeah, I kept 10,000 GP free for the party to purchase the items Wulfgarn mentioned. If everyone doesnt agree with this party pooling of money, I can certainly use it help my AC which I cut by 2 to help in the healing.....

Well guys, I assumed we were good for a healing and stuff with a cleric and 2 paladins, now no priest. Gonna be sticky. I spent too long making up my fighter, and not changing now.
So, unless DangerDwarf or Dyne decides to take a cleric, we will have to fend for ourselves and rely on the paladins for some healing. Either of the paladins wanna change?
I will still keep my 10K available for the healing items Wulfgarn mentioned, if not, I am gonna beef my AC up by the 2 again, I may need it

Actually Dyne doesn't need to transfer now. Plus Wulfgar needed to, his wife wasn't happy with him playing on Friday. Which I can understand, because I have to drop out of my Wed. Game while these games last.
