It could have been better. Strahd could have been destroyed. We'll see if we can piss him off into challenging us again before a day goes by and he restores his spells. At least we may be able to do more damage to he and his minions before we have to make camp.

I've been thinking about that........ I've got to figure out what to say to get him to focus his attacks on just one player. At least long enough for the 2 others that have the Mace of disruption to pound him...

I agree we have to push the hunt on. He has burned a few of his spells & it's still daylight so we know he is in the castle.

I don't think so. I asked about Gust of Wind and such and was told no.

It looks very likely that I will be taking my kids trick or treating this friday for Holloween. We are looking for a neighborhood that is doing it on Saturday instead.

I have a wand of prestidigitation. How many charges would I need to expend of that thing to clear the room?

If you have to bump to Sat I'll be out of the game. I'll be starting a training event that will go into mid Nov.

You have my writeup already. The only changes will be the change of the UD Bane to the sun-sword and loss of potions. -2 Restorations, -1 Cure L wounds, -1 Cure S wound, -1 holy water, - 2 Flasks of oil.

Good luck !

A prestidigitation can slowly lift 1 pound of material.

You know, this just might work. I am sure that the smoke has no weight, even that much that has been created on that level. So..... Use the wand u got to lift it to the ceiling, or at worse, push it to any exit that will suck it up, open rooms, stair weighs and so on. Benefit? I dont think our friend in gaseous form can move more than 10ft per round, and since he doesnt have the same density of the smoke, it should leave his form visible for us all to see, or at least to move around to spot him....

Just a thought.

In a far off land, a little boy and his grandfather are watching the clouds roll in the sky with impending dread. A light shines between two clouds as the weather begins to brighten. "Look poppy, its clearing up", the boy says. The old one knew this day would come. As the old one stares at the life in child's eyes, he thinks back to the words passed on to him by his elders and so on of a time when the foul stench of evil passes for all time. It will come, it has to come, but now he wonders? "Yes my boy. It seems some great events have occured"

Moments before, a group of suicidal members vanquish an evil that has been present for many lifetimes...........

Dros walks out of the castle, humming a tune that he has never heard before, but somehow, he cant get it out of his mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxDNARzDEVs

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make it tonight. I wish I could have given notice earlier. If someone wants to play my character this session, it's fine with me.

All I will say at this time is Strahd now has a vampiric turtle familiar.

Good fight guys.

The reason I wasn't able to make it is cause my brother came home from Korea (he's in the army). Hopefully I'll be good to go next week.

So how did today's session go?

Good effort everyone. I was hoping to avenge your deaths by killing Strahd myself. The only thing I was thinking when it was me and him was if I go gaseous on the Material, albiet slow movement, could I possibly get away. Especially since he was fully healed. But, attacking, although seeming suicidal, won out. The chance was not high, first I had to hit, then a 10% chance of utterly destroying him with the mace (1 or 2 on d20). I had to try. Imagine if it had to work.... Strahd gone, I could have taken you all to get raised (except for the pile of Ashes) All that experience and loot, never mind the fame.... I wasn't banking that he could get at me on the ethereal, I think I may have turned chicken if I knew that an left the castle to live with the old priest at the church LOL

Hopefully Thurs group will not kill him giving us another chance next year. I say beef us up to level 11 tree, see if we can take him.....

And now that I see it all play out once, I will be playing a cleric or paladin next time
Thanks for the game Tree, was a lot of fun!

Rob.

your character may not have known, but you could have remembered the room with the casket and the fireball trap. Something I said, but Strahd ended up not doing at that time.

After the Thursday group goes down I'll post the write up of Strahd.

Plus my daughter will hopefully be done with the write up for the Monday night groups adventure and accomplishments by then as well. A good read, I think.

For the record, he is only 4 levels higher than the version for the recommended level range of the module, which is 4 to 7. He was a 10/10 Fighter Mage originally.

I might do 10th or 11th level next year.

Forget character level. Simara is not going back there unless he gets to bring one of these

And maybe one of those heat seeking badgers too

I'm just glad that we were the envy of many a group by at least making Strahd feel fear.

Hmmmmm-- Did he really feel fear?

I would almost think it to be elation after the long days of having the accountant scribble on a parchment about things not real

Wait - Strahd is the mirror image of us - he plays Paper and Pay checks with his accountant!!!!!

It was a great one guys. Lots of fun!

Well we can brag that one of us lived through it. It sounds better if we leave off the "spend the rest his life as a turtle" part.

Sory it took so long to post but some things came up & Ive been away for the last few weeks.
