If Thursday is better for you I'm fine with that.

Besides if anyone in the Friday group knows of anyone else it would probably be best if they can play the same night as the person they know.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

My Monday group has a 14 and a 15 year old in it. The monday group has been playing for about 5 months now.

If you have a speaker and mic set up two of you can play off of one computer pretty easily.

Something I posted for the Monday group, so to make sure all groups are aware of the same info:

You didn't read the "Energy Drain" description right after the blood drain. Plus my M&T does not have that sentence you quoted. You must have the second printing. According to what I have the slam attack does 2 levels of loss, immeidately, with no save. W hen they do the bite they lose 1d4 HP's per round, Then, according to the Energy Drain paragraph, they alos lose one level per round on top of the blood damage. I'll find my M&T second printing and compare their wording.

Ravenloft is beatable. Its just very, very hard.

Write up scrolls, I like how the M&T allows you to make scrolls from 7th level on, so I'll allow you to make scrolls. M&T page 87.

Everyone is able to make Potions by 9th level. Still, in the M&T the prices are very high. Cut them in half and we'll also assume you have a "lab" available to you, so don't worry about that cost. M&T pages 87 to 88.

Wands, staves, rods, and miscellaneous magic items cannot be made until 12th level for clerics and Druids. Including arms and armor. M&T page 88.

However wizards can make them at 9th level. M&T page 88. Which, BTW, means Winchesters are now 5d4+5, not 6d4+6.

How much do scrolls of Protection from energy drain cost- or protection from Undead?

Also who is playing what in this group - we need to start planning!

I'm playing the above posted wizard, although I still have alterations to make. As for planning, I mostly plan to keep the meat shield in between me and various carnivores.

The Protection from Energy Drain is equal to a 4th level scroll, with a duration of 1 turn per caster level. Turn in C&C equals 1 minute/6 rounds.

Protection from Undead? I'll have to look into that one.

Yes, it is. Hopefully Wulfgarn can come up with a build where I'll agree he's a viable character for this adventure. That way he may draw up a final draft that looks even cooler.

Then again, maybe I should "drag it out" and try and get him to draw several more character sketches.

A few questions.

Are we back up to 6 players?

Are we using Skype or Open RPG now?

Has everyone settled on their class? It seems like there may have been some changes so I'm curious about it so I know what I'll roll up.

Unless I have miscounted you are at 5 players. Its time for a roll call and final decisions to be made about characters anyways. Game time is the second Friday from now.

We are using SKYPE to speak to each other with, and I have done SKYPE tests with at least half of all the RAvenloft players. Like Wulfgarn and L. Seureck for the Friday group. I have tested it with all of the Monday group, naturally, since they are my normal weekly group.

OpenRPG is going to be for mapping and dice rolling. Wulfgarn will hopefully be able to convert the Ravenloft maps to be uploadable to the Openrpg platform. If not, I'll at least have the free form drawing option and my Fiery Dragon Tokens to use on Open rpg to help clarify "positioning" questions in play.

Anyways, lets do a ROLL CALL to be sure of who is playing, and lets also say what you wish to play, so party compositon can be decided upon.

If we've got a fighter and a paladin, I might go with a 2nd wizard as my class.

I've a Paladin all but finished. I just need to rework his equipment. Tree sorry I thought it would be finished by now but Work went insane with both a huge training event & end of year money to spend. I'll have him finished by COB Thursday.

Either would be very useful. I would go with Cleric myself, but play whichever you think you'll have more fun with.

I forgot to mention and important fact that may impact our group....

My wife and I are expecting our second child at any day. The due date is Oct. 20, 2007 but as any parent knows child have their own schedule as to when they decide to arrive.

This means that I may be unexpectedly unavailable and without means to post on the board that I will be unavailable. For this reason, once I get my character generated, is there anyone who would like to have a copy of my character sheet so that you can play my guy if I am absent?

Wand of Whacking: Characters of any class can make use of this wondrous magical item. To do so they simply grasp the iron wand firmly in hand while intoning the command words"Take this!". They then swing the the wand at their opponent's head and make an attack roll. Success delivers 1d2 points of damage. The Wand of Whacking has unlimited charges.

Yes, armor and shields stack.

I kind of go along 3E on this. If its a character with the spell on their spell list, they can use the wand. So characters with no spells available to them cannot use wands. They need potions.
