If Wulf is going cleric I am going Fighter. That should make the group

2 fighters - Lord and myself

2 clerics - Wulf, and spakman (is spak still in our group?)

1 Palidin - Lurker

1 wiz - Deuce Travler

and whatever Danger Dwarf is going to be...

What lvl spell resistance armour can we get... I am looking in the M&T and the rules say it comes in 13, 15, 17, 19. I also can not tell what the price is.

I was also wondering can an animated shield have a + bonus. Say an animated shield of +3. Would I just combine the two gp costs?

Where is this SR info at?

Yes, combining the two prices is the easiest way.

Hmmm. There are 7 of you in this group? I hope Thursday has 6.

Wand of Whacking: Characters of any class can make use of this wondrous magical item. To do so they simply grasp the iron wand firmly in hand while intoning the command words"Take this!". They then swing the the wand at their opponent's head and make an attack roll. Success delivers 1d2 points of damage. The Wand of Whacking has unlimited charges.

Tooooo funny!

Tree my paladin is finished & in your in box..... There might be a little problem with the tabs lining up but at least you should be able to see it all instead of just the equipment.

Add 10 GP to the base price of the weapon to be silvered.

Gee, thats clear as mud. SR19 for 25,000 GP?!? Trolls must have been drunk or high when they wrote that, probably both.

SR in C&C is only over come by a straight d20 roll. So SR 19 makes you practically immune to magic. Which is good, until you want to be healed.

Something with SR, especially that high, should be much more expensive. SR 19 should command prices around 250,000 GP, not 25,000GP.

SR 13 should start at 100,000 GP.

This cannot be combined with any other effect, including AC bonus'. Yeah, those prices are rediculous and do nothing to help "balance" the power of such an item.

I think it is best if we just assume such items cannot be made.

As Gideon Thorne pointed out the proper pricing for SR is on page 89. So its 130,000 GP for 13 points of SR. Which means a certain Amulet needs to have 50,000 GP added to its pricing. Or lose the SR.

Ok as a cleric of the group I would like to point out that it would be in the best intrest of the other party members to chip in for healing.

Specifically stuff like Scroll of Ressurection 800gp Scrolls of restoration

If the group as a whole wants to kick in for a Wand of Ressurection they are 41k and its 5 charges for a Res and 1 charge for a Heal

the reason I bring this up is that I cannot allocate enough gold to the healing of the group and prepare myself for the trials to come

Just a thought

Excellent thought! Once I have my fighter outfitted as best as I can, the GP thats left I will surely put in the pot for party healing/raising etc... I'll let you all know how much I have left when I am done.

It has become obvious to me at this point that the Trolls failed to properly calcualte prices of many of the magical items. Lucky for you. I'll try and take the time today to make sure there are no other items that I need to revise.

As I have settled into my roll as Cleric I have been sorely tempted to go Evil - for the control the undead option -

I could call him Riddick - another kind of evil - heh

I read on the thursday night board that you said no bane weapons in excess of +1. If that is a case then those weapons will be totally useless against vampires....... need +2 to hit.... did you really intend that to be the result?

From your posts in another thread, I understand you are following the SRD regarding stacking...

Does this mean you will allow +3 armor, +3 ring, +3 amulet of nat. armor to stack?

The way I read your post I understood you to be saying you saw ring bonus to be deflection while armor to be armor and therefore stackable.

Oh and I may be changing classes depending on your ruling regarding bane weapons.

All three of these will stack. The Armor bonus will not stack however with Bracers of armor

I happen to be browsing other group threads as well nwelte1. It's certainly for Treebore to clarify, but here is my understanding on the Bane ruling.

I took Treebore's statement to mean the the natural plus of a Bane weapon would be +1. However, against its Bane type (Undead), it functions as a +3 (meets the maximum magical bonus restriction for his campaign) weapon and deals an additinal 2d6 damage. So against a vampire it's +3 and therefore can harm it. However, against a non-undead creature with a +2 magical weapon requirement, it would only act as +1 and therefore you would not be able to harm that creature.

Hope this clears it up. That is, assuming I understood Treebore.

I think you are correct. I have used many Bane weapons in the past, and that is how they work. +1 vs any creature except for what the bane is tuned to, in this cause vampires producing a +3 to hit.

The reason I said that is that Bane weapons act as +3 versus what they are bane against, +1 versus everything else. The way in which the question seemed to be asking is if the Bane weapon was +3 would the bane power make it +5. So I said Bane weapons are to be the base +1 only. They are still +3 versus the BAne creatures. Bane versus evil pretty much works aginst 90+% of what you'll be fighting in Ravenloft.

I try to cross post "rules questions" but I am pretty sure I have said in every groups thread to read the other group threads to make sure everyone is "on the same page".

My Monday group has a definite advantage because they have spent time talking via SKYPE, plus they are accustomed to playing together for months now. So I would guess they are the favored group in that regard. To be fair to the other two groups, I have not allowed them to use my house rules. BtB only.

I strongly encourage the groups to test out SKYPE and OpenRPG ahead of time and to talk about ideas and strategies. Plus if you let me know about it you can also ask me on the spot questions.
