Got it loaded & thanks.

Tree

My Pal is named Glyn. I'm not that knowledgeable on Grayhawk -I played in it years ago but never DMed it- so wasn't sure what a good order for my paladin would be a member of. I used a homebrew order "The Gray Brothers". I'll change it to any order you suggest.

Setting specific info is unlikely to be important in what is basically a "tournament game". If you want to give me a little write up about this order of yours I'll do my best to use it in the game though.

Most settings have almost as many orders as they do adventurers. If you want him to be a member of a prominant order the "Order of the Hart" is a good one.

OK, I read it over and it looks good. I like your weapon names, especially "Corpse's Fist" and "Wolf's Fear".

If you become a permanent resident of Ravenloft I'll have to work up a history for them.

They can hold 12 Potions, solid leather are 2 GP, leather with steel inserts, that add +4 to saves across the board (crushing, burning, etc...) are 45 GP.

You can have on two bandoliers if you aren't wearing a quiver of bolts or arrows.

If no one else is willing I can probably talk my daughter into playing your Paladin. She is also in my Monday group, and she knows how to play Paladins very well. She probably plays them the best I have ever seen.

Yep, she says she'll do it. If no one else actually in your group doesn't want to.

P.S.

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Got a little got up in other things that are going on currently. I do still want to play, however.

nwelte1 gave a list of people in the Fridays group last Wednesday. I thought you were in the group as well. Here it is:

2 fighters - nwelte1 and Lord Seurek

2 clerics - Wulf, and spakman (is spak still in our group?)

1 Palidin - Lurker

1 wiz - Deuce Travler

and whatever Danger Dwarf is going to be...

I played with spakman on the weekend and I think he said that he was in the Thursday group. That leaves 6 plus yourself is 7.

Treebore, can you confirm the people in this group?

Can we all get together Thursday on Skype and OpenRPG for a test run People?

Rob.

This is my Plan to defeat Strahd

1st we find a defensible area in the town most likely the Church- I will Hallow the area and we can set up some defenses here. If we become separated we meet back here in town.

By using scrolls of Find the Path and discern location we can locate where Strahd is and the fastest way to reach him

I suggest that the longer we stay in the keep the greater the chance that we will never leave it alive

With the use of Spell scrolls such as Mass heal Sunburst heal ect we have a shot at eradicating Strahd in an instant thereby circumventing his Gaseous form ability.

Remember we need to be a strike force not a team of dungeon crawlers.

So any powers that allow us to track Strahd with a certainty takes away his ability to pop quiz us till we are too weak to fight him.

We can also offer Strahd something he dearly lacks Life. As a Cleric of Frey I feel that this may be an opportunity to right the wrongs that fate contrived for Strahd- We offer to resurrect him and use ture resurrection on the Love he lost- his Elizabeta (As Dracul was to Elizabeta so Strahd was to that other woman- I forgot her name.

I need some feed back on my plans here so we can plan together to overthrow the evil of strahd

Oh- I am also thinking we will need to find a stronghold within the castle and Ill perform the Hallow again and make it safe for us perhaps the Chapel.

Spak man is in the other group so we need ANOTHER Cleric

As there are 6 of us in the group it would cost like 72k for Staff of Heraling and a Staff of Resurection

this brakes down to 10k a piece for these items

I will put up my 10k

how about all the rest of you?

Yes, they do. The good thing is I allow you to "spontaneously" convert spells into healing spells. So you don't need to pray for healing spells.

Not everything about 3E sucks. I also allow you to add your level to healing spells, up to the max that spell can heal. IE Cure light would still heal a max of 8 HP's. So at 9th level your cure light wounds spells automatically heal for 8 HP's since your 9th level.

1st we find a defensible area in the town most likely the Church- I will Hallow the area and we can set up some defenses here. If we become separated we meet back here in town.

The town church is already defended to the best of an 8th clerics ability. So it should be easy for you to improve upon that, and take little time.

By using scrolls of Find the Path and discern location we can locate where Strahd is and the fastest way to reach him

You sure these will work?

I suggest that the longer we stay in the keep the greater the chance that we will never leave it alive

This seems to have been proven true of past groups.

With the use of Spell scrolls such as Mass heal Sunburst heal ect we have a shot at eradicating Strahd in an instant thereby circumventing his Gaseous form ability.

Good ideas.

Remember we need to be a strike force not a team of dungeon crawlers.

Very true. Which is exactly the conditions under which you all have been recruited.

So any powers that allow us to track Strahd with a certainty takes away his ability to pop quiz us till we are too weak to fight him.

Good idea, if it works.

That is something that has never been tried before. An intriguing idea for sure.

I need some feed back on my plans here so we can plan together to overthrow the evil of strahd

Oh- I am also thinking we will need to find a stronghold within the castle and Ill perform the Hallow again and make it safe for us perhaps the Chapel.

Another strong idea.

I really like the Idea of redeeming Strahd to life, and to bring back his lady

Tree are you doing the "cards" that setup his purpose and where he can Always be found?

As far as the Find the path and the Discern location - I do not see why they wont work save SR

Please let me know if there is something I am missing

There are spells and items that negate the abilities of detection type spells. The cards have become very unreliable over the years, especially concerning Strahd himself.

Only one cleric. We are still waiting to here back from DangerDwarf as to if he is playing on Friday or not. He posted that he will let us know today. He said he was looking at playing a wizard making 2 of them.

So, here is the question. I feel we need 2 clerics, one an all out healer of the party, maybe Wulfgarn, and for sure another character in addition to the paladin who can lay on hands. Does anyone thing this is sufficient?

I am penciled to play a fighter, but, I can change to a cleric (only leaving one fighter and a paladin to lead us) My cleric would be a back up cleric to Wulfgarn, or, I can go with a paladin to have two leaders, both with some curing and atacking abilities with only 1 cleric. Either option only affords 1 all out fighter however.

As well, Trebore, waiting for you to let us know if Dyne is playing or not. Do you know? If he does, I would suggest he play a cleric and I stay with the fighter, or we could flop classes.

Any thoughts on the classes peoeple?

As I posted earlier, SPak man is in the Thursday group, so that means Dyne is in this group.

If you guys, and you seem to be doing so, buy plenty of potions for healing, one cleric can be enough. Unless he gets killed. Then you'll be missing having that second cleric.

However, as long as you keep the clerical magic items, and don't lose them to Strahd and company, PAladins are allowed to use clerical items. So they can offset the loss of a cleric. How well depends on the items the cleric had, and you keep.
