Ravenloft (I6) Friday Group

Looks like the friday group will be:

Friday Group: (starts first Friday in OCtober)

Danger Dwarf, Spak, nwelte, jaybird, Lurker,

ENWorlder if he responds to PM

I'd like to start working on my character and thought it'd be a good idea if we all got together and knew what classes folks planned on playing so we don't have an entire party of bards, or thieves, etc.

I'm not a picky guy and will play whatever is needed. So, anyone know what they plan on rolling up?

Deuce Traveller did respond to the PM, he should be signing onto the boards at any time. In other words, he says he's playing.

I'm here. I can play anything, but normally play a the moral extremes of a virtuous paladin or not-so-virtuous rogue. For a Ravenloft campaign I'd want to lean more towards a goodie-two-shoes trying to survive in a world of evil, so I wouldn't mind taking up the role of a cleric.

This is just I6, not the setting, but a cleric will definitely work well against vampires and other possible undead.

I'm curious. Will we be coming through the mists from different worlds and all that stuff?

The background writer in me wants to know.

Its set in Greyhawk, like its meant to be.

The premise is that you know people have entered into this "dark cloud" to kill a powerful vampire believed to be on the other side. None have returned. Your group has gathered and prepared to find out why, and to see if the vampire story is true, and to defeat him if he really exists. Then hopefully be able to come back home.

The first game session starts with you stepping into the dark mists to find out what happens.

I've a paladin up & ready -I'll PM it to you tree to make sure you approve. I didn't break any of your guide lines but as CK you should bless of on him-

I'm still having computer problems -vista isn't any more stable than old school windows & the new "N" wireless has issues of it's own- but they should be up fixed soon.

Sept is going to be nasty busy for me so I can't promise to hit all the rest of the group on skype but will make sure to at least test it with tree & one or 2 others.

Look forward to it!

Well it looks like we've got a cleric and a paladin. How valuable would a thief be? I'm fine with either 3 or 4 hours.

I'm definitely in for this. I just have to figure out what I want to play. My M&T is on it's way from the Trolls, too, so I'll get to drool at some magic swag soon too.

Well, that's not encouraging. Hmmm... I would imagine that there are several traps in this adventure, but the thief's sneak attack probably will do little. I'll take the wizard of the party... which means the big guys get to protect me. Right fellas?

If I'm tracking that is 1 Dwarf Fighter, 1 dwarf cleric, 1 wizard & my paladin.

If I remember I-6 there are plenty of traps besides just undead. But that doesn't mean Tree hasn't changed things up...

Also let me know when I can ops check my Skpe. -I'm getting ready to start a training event that will last till the 26th & will be busy. But give me a time in the evening & I'll try to come up on skype.

Hey everyone. Robert has slotted me into the Friday's group. I have played with him in Slimy's game and only just getting used to C&C (played all editions of D&D for 15 years)

I see the character selection so far. I have not played a rogue in quite some time, used to clerics and fighters, but if you all want me to, I can give it a go.

Looking forward to nailing this vampire bitch Or die trying and probably rather quickly....

Rob.

Looks good, only thing is, I believe that Robert has a restriction of no more than +3 on any magic item, although for that price, I may look into a +5 Ring of Prot. for myself, what say you good Robert? +5 Ring ok?

Rob.

I can deal with +4 and +5 Items of protection for wizards, only.

Plus I should say I follow 3E rules for armor stacking. So magical rings won't stack with magical Armor/shields, and the like. Plus I don't like how ambiguous the Ring of Protections "protection" is described. So I am going to clarify that by saying, in 3E terms, that it provides an armor bonus only. Especially for that kind of money. No bonus to saves. If you want it to give a bonus to saves as well double the gold cost.

The Amulet of NAtural Armor does stack with other armors, BTW.

I'll be involved in a SKYPE game this evening. Around 5 PM PST, 8 PM EST.

SKYPE really isn't that bad. Just put me in as a "contact", treebore.therubylord

It will show me as green on the icon to the left of my name. Then left or right click on my name and send me a chat letting me know who you are, etc... and we'll go from there.

I have taken a hint that "lesser" classes would get pulverized in this campaign. So seeing we have only 1 true out and out fighter, now we have 2. I'll be up front taking the hits so you clerics and paladins better heal me!! LOL

9th Level fighter, once I get him outfitted and stuff, I'll post it back here. Maybe a second dwarf..... We will see.

Paladin, cleric, wizard, and fighter so far. As I understand it. I would recommend another Paladin or Cleric. Or wizard.

Of course one of your group, I believe Gnat is in the Friday group, has dropped, so right now that leaves you at five members. If you know of anyone else who maybe interested in this let them know there is an opening.

Sorry, Gnat is the Thursday group. Still, if you know, or find someone who is interested, and the Thursday time slot will work, tell them to sign up.

Thursday would work better for me than Friday (more convenient, though Friday's not impossible), Robert. Want to slot me in there instead?
