Always a good idea, but we must pledge to use our inate spellcasting to scare and play jokes on our fellow party members!

Thanks Jay. Dahlia like to play the comedic role, getting herself and others into big pickling pickles. But behind the relaxed, playful exterior, is a calm, disciplined killer, who is the shite at hitting a target from distance. When that fails, she likes to sneak around in shadows, and pop out, sliding her dagger into the arses of baddies....

Question Nate: Do small folk (Halflings, gnomes, etc) get a +1 to AC and -1 to attacks in your game? I know in d20 it is the case, not sure about c&c and/or your game.
Seems the party is rather SHORT..................................... on magic/healing. I will lace healing options into the game and will consider hirelings to assist in healing.
I can tell I will need to have some heavy AC critters to stop you from whompping all over them.

Nate, while I was rethinking my own house rules, I've considered adding this ability to the ranger and druid list:
Ditch Medicine: The ranger/druid's knowledge of herblore allows them to make poultices the heal 1d6 hit points of damage per day.
It's not much, but for a group without a primary healer, it could be the difference between survival and a TPK. Feel free to swipe it if you like.

Hmm I just got done rolling some random encounters and loot... All I have to say is DAMN. Random HP is really just that Random. And random treasure creates some F-ed up results, but the dice fall where they fall. For the experience CKs, how do you handle random treasure? Do you roll for each creature in a random encounter or use some common sense?
I also mapped out a couple more locations but need to populate them with items, garbage and whatnot. Should be fun.
As planned we will be running the A series with me altering the storyline here and there to suit my needs.
How do you want to start the game? Already knowing everyone in the party or getting introduced?
On Thrus., I will try to host a tutorial session on macros for those interested. It would start sometime after 7:30 central. If this does not work then I will host it Fri.
As for the CK stuff, remember that the rules/rolls are your servants, Nate, not vice versa. If something seems screwy just make a judgment call and either fudge it or reroll. It's *your* game. That's the way Gary would have wanted it
I'm also excited to be playing an old series of modules. My group didn't play many back in the 80's, and any we did play have been lost in the chaotic shuffle of my memory banks through the intervening decades. So, it's all new to me!

A couple of people in my game commented last night that multiclassing is really BAD in c&c. Nate, or anyone, do you think I should rethink my multiclassed character and go single class? Any of you c&c vets out there, can you tell me the pros and cons of creating a character this way?
L.S.
I think 7:30 Central is 10:30 my time. If I have time, I'll pop on for a bit.

If you want more than one class then dual class. 3 or more classes has only been worth it for the 1E Bard. With 3 levels you get so far behind the rest of the group the benefits start failing to make up for it. Plus the HP damage (dividing it by 3) really hurts.
I have played plenty of dual classed over the decades, they were worth it. In particular I like fighter/mages and thief/mages.

Nate, do you include cursed items in your game? I usually give any magical item a 5% chance that there is a cursed item in loot. However, I haven't heard of any other ck doing it. Adds to the minds of players to think before they jump so to speak. 5% maybe too high, since theoretically, that means 1 in 20 items will be a melon. I tell my players that there is that small chance. Keeps em honest

Nate: The way I did treasure was to let the dice land where they may. That's how you guys ended up with a 15000 gp crown and other high priced antiquities.
LS: I've palyed a couple of multi/dual classed characters (never more than 2 classes) and I didn't feel that they had any kind of drawbacks. It really only matters what your character concept is. If it is a sneaking, shot-them-in-the-back, munchkin then do the multiclass, if not, go with a single class.

I will be late for those that want to have the tutorial... I need to package a lot of meat. I think I will be on at about 8:30. I will launch a server for those that want to play with it.

"tut" ??
Nate, I think you're in the midwest, correct?
So starting the game at 8:30 PM C time would be a 1/2 hour prior to quitting time??

Yes. Cursed items exist per the M&T but it is highly unlikely to find one, especially at low levels due the the fact there is a magic treasure roll with percentage chance and then there is the second magic type roll with its own percentage chance.
