Any interest in a Saturday one-shot?
I am thinking of hosting a Skype/Maptool game this Saturday. It would be a one shot. Purpose is to introduce my wife to online roleplaying and to have fun. My wife has roleplayed on 3 occassions and I want to get her invovled online if possible. I would be looking for 3 to 4 more people. My wife will mostly likely play a fighter type class. Game would start 7:30/8:00 central to whenever the group decides to call it a night.
Game would be likely roleplay-lite with an emphasis on completing the module.
For simplicity, I was thinking of running the Becon with light modification. Otherwise maybe WOTC Howling Horde. I need a simple low level module and those are the two I got.

Hey Nate. I'll give it a go. I dont know any of the mods you mentioned, so will all be new to me. I will play your super cool Barbarian class you mentioned on your Sunday thread. 8 central is 10 pm my time, which is fine since I dont teach on Sundays

I would like to play and am available. The house rules look fine. My only issue is I don't have Maptool. Is it freeware? If so, I am in. I'll probably play a cleric or a fighter barring any objections. Also, do you allow multiclassing? If so, what rules do you use for it?

On encumbrance I believe nwelte is like most of us online CK's, keep it reasonable and we won't look at the encumbrance rules.

Too kind. I am a new CK so somethings need ironing out, but I think the group will tell you I am fair/reasonable. As for my maps, I am skimping on this one do to time constraints to get it together. Unless I find a magic period of time I am down loading the map from WOTC.jaybird216 wrote:

Had not even realized the shield with a two handed sword. Thanks for pointing it out. Lose the shield. Leaves me some coin now to by mundane stuff no doubt. I'll Aramis' on that one Err, drop the AC down to 16

Natural 1s are fumbles. Again KISS, lose a round. If the group wants random effects we can add them.
Think we could spice this up a bit Nate? Theoretically, crits and fumbles only occur 5% of the time. Myself, Slimy, and Martin use WOTC 3ed critical hit and critical fumble chart. Makes it more fun for players I find. The critical hit chart is broken into 3 categories, based on weapon type. The fumble chart enables the ck to use a little role playing to describe just how the PC screwed up. I agree, KISS is usually the way to go, the chart just adds a little flavor to it
