Treebore, are we going to be using the simplified hacking rules from the quickstart, or the full rules from the rulebook?

So far my character Ideas are

Ork Street Samurai

or

Elf Hacker

Ill take one of the support roles if the group has enough Combat heavy characters, or the Ork Street Samurai if the opposite is true

I have yet to decide on the scenario, so come up with character concepts you like and I'll pick on a scenario that fits everyone. Just make sure you have strong combat skills.

Im going with a Rigger/Hacker specializing in drones. Of course things can change once I start character creation, but thats my plan for the time being.

everyone should also check the rules for armor encumberance

i know i can wear two peices of armor without suffering encumberance

it's tied to body so the higher your body the more armor you can wear

Remember kids.. don't use your magical powers to jump into the middle of a big group of zombies.. its bad

On a side note, we have to find a quieter way to kill zombies.. now that our combat monstrosity is out (and soon to be a zombie himself **shudder** zombie trolls... ) it may be tough...

my silent killing options are more or less nil.. the quietest way I can attack is by running them down with the van

A couple of things. If the Shaman fully heals the Trolls they will not turn into Zombies, use anti virals from your medkit/autodocs to be as sure as possible.

Two, reading the rules last night I found out Riggers use their own skills and attributes when they "jump into" any of their drones, etc...

Spak man I would like to see your equipment lists on here as well, because like right now I would like to know if you guys have any medkits and at what rating.

The auto docs were bought at what rating?

I have many ways to kill quietly. My gun is silenced, my sword is quiet, and if that fails, I can sneak up on them invisibly and pull their heads off. (Head Pullification skill level 3)

I don't have the books, but unless it is specified, some of my spells might be quiet too. I.e. do magical stun bolts or lightning bolts or manna balls make a sound?

The fact that a bite from them zombifies us makes it more difficult. Then we have to take them out silently _and_ from a safe distance. Sounds like a job for Probe-man

THe Autodocs come with r4 medkits and it "immediately stablilizes any character hooked up to it (see p 244)" as listed on p 341 of the main rulebook.

Ill e-mail you a complete gear list ASAP, but after software, autosofts, and 1k that I set aside to buy "long Haul" (my character is addicted) I didn't have any spare cash to buy medkits.

Btw, has anyone found where the prices for drugs are in the book, I took an addiction to long haul, and made a note of "1000 nuyen worth of long haul" but I havent been able to find the actual price of the stuff. and Treebore, did you get the e-mail I sent you before the game (tue or wed iirc)?

Most spells don't say if they are noisy or not. So its pretty much a judgement call. So lightning and fireball types would have higher noise signatures, mana bolts would have very low noise. Unfortunately I believe Mana spells are useless against non living creatures.

I do wish there was some way to give you better descriptions of your spells and equipment, let alone the setting. Flavor helps SR stand out.

Your gun is good, you have some darn cool equipment.

My youngest son, Patrick, wants to join you guys, he really liked what he heard during the last game session, so he wants to play the Elven Weapon Specialist. We are working out how he could be a survivor in a high rad area. So you'll likely find him in the hospital area, wearing lead vests, etc... I'm thinking of having some lab areas in the hospital involved in researching radiation sickness from certain treatments. That would explain how he had the resources to survive for so long.
