Ravenloft

Post by nwelte1 »

Unless Treebore is running a game, I am interested in running Ravenloft. Looking for interest will in advance.

I am trying to crank out maps as fast as I can. Can not promise they will all be done in time.

Here are some samples of the near complete main floor:

http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk40 ... /Rave3.png
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk40 ... /Rave4.png

I still need to add in some details, but for the most part, level one is complete.

I have all the levels mapped, but not populated with items and creatures.

As previously stated, Nate, I might give this a go depending on times etc.

Of course, I would die horribly in short order, but not before I got in a few "Thog Smash!"s

Just kidding. I wouldn't bring old Thog out to find undead. Maybe Simara the Paladin, who fought so bravely, and was vanquished by Treebore in '07 Ravenloft in 2 easy rounds by Strahd himself (although not before I hit him with a "save or almost die" when he made his save by _1_- damn that generous die roller!)

I'm a fan of Ravenloft and would love to play, if you have room. Are you aware of the fan-made Ravenloft supplement for C&C? I think you can find it here:

What days would work best? Thinking Thursday, Fri, or Sat. if interest is high I may do several groups like Tree did last year.

Still debating on whether I will run I6 straight or do Expedition to CR.

Of these 3 days Nate, Saturday would be best for me. And Expedition to CR would be fun for me, already ran thru I6

Yes, as we went through I6 last year, maybe expedition is the way to go. although our group did not see a lot of I6 either
As to days, I have the mixed genre stuff Thursdays. Fridays would probably work. Saturdays could work as long as there are not thanksgivings and b'days etc. as those tend to happen on weekends

How many weeks are we talking about?

Ill join in if ya have room.... My old Ravenloft Pally can be upgraded or downgraded either way
I didnt add any of the XP for *Defeating Strahd* (I.E. helping)

Bran

P.S. I wont forget smite evil this time
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
Sounds obvious to me! -Gm Michael

Interested.

Watching for a date/time consensus!

Monday or Friday nights would be good for me, with a 6 or 7 PM Central starting time.

Friday I'm at masjid in the evening, at least for the rest of Ramadan, but nearly any other day (perhaps not Saturday) I am cool with.

Oops, I can't play on Mondays.

That leaves Fridays and Gal can't make that. And I think some of you guys are in other Friday night games.

Okay I got I6 Mapped and will try to intergrate some Expedition into the campaign but no promises. Those that are still interested, I am thinking of start mid October. Thinking Friday and Saturdays if I have enough for two groups. If those days do not work, I can try to squeeze one into the week. Game time would start at 8 Central may move it back to 7 if that helps. I am also open to longer sesssions.... i.e. 4 hours.

If players are more interested in Ex. to CR, I will need more time...... Have to make the tokens for all the miscellanous encounters, plus the game could run 8+ sessions easy (more l likely 12+)... that might be too much from some. But I am willing to to do it... looks fun and extremely challenging.

I need to withdraw my bid, Nate. Old Jaybird's got something cooking every weekend in October. Gonna be an expensive month!

Friday is out for me, but I may be able to swing Saturdays Nate. Pencil me in for that. Wife is getting home mid Oct and we are moving to a new house here so it maybe a little hectic. As for the start time, 7 Central would be better for me than 8 since it would be over at 12 or 1 if its a 4 hour game which I dont mind on a weekend.

Okay start date is October 18, 2008. Time, I am thinking 8 Central. If everyone is enjoying the sessions I will move it to 7 Central to allow from longer sessions.

Don't think I have enough for a second group, but lets sounds off and see who all is playing and then I can make that decision and set a 2nd day if needed.

Additionally, due to request, I have looked more into Ex. C.R. EX. CR is very combat intensive. I am game to run it, however be warned the introductory text suggest planning for 20 sessions to run all three acts (though from looking at some of the encounters.... the party could be dead in act one without ever even setting foot within the castle.) 20 + sessions seems a bit much, but I am game. Otherwise, I can cut it down as suggested in the book to make it fit 10 or so sessions depending on the groups performance. Or, I can run I6 with me adding some new plot elements from EX CR to the module to give it a slightly different feel to please those that have already run I6.

I already have Act I and part C of Act II EX CR mapped and populated. The castle is of course complete but needs tweaking to account for the changes presented in EX CR.

Starting level will depend on the groups choice of adventure and commitment to completing it as well as the number of party members. Will post once I get a full head count.

As of right now, Sat night should be fine for me. That may change however, so I'll post if I can't make it due to real life stuff.

It does not appear that I have enough interest to run a game on the weekend. Reviewing the tread I have 2-3 people that have expressed interest and not withdrawn it. However, the Tuesday night group is running Ex. to Castle R. If you are interested I would suggested inquiring in the Tuesday Ravenloft thread as to availability.

If more interest is generated with regard to a weekend game, I am still open to running a second group.
