I am a newbie to C&C in fact I don't even have any of the books yet. I am gamer from back in the day...80's and very early 90's to be exact.

I sure do miss it. I used to have tons o' fun playing, Star Frontiers and AD&D, and DC Heroes mainly. I bought Twilight 2000 but never touched it.

I'm in a small town hundreds of miles away from a game.

I'd order the books if could get into a game. I use Skype to speak to people in other states. But the map program I am unfamiliar with.

Is there some sort of FAQ put together on playing online?

Any and all advice would be much appreciated!

Welcome Froc! If you want to check out the core rules for c&c, there is a free download copy of the Quick Start Rules at http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product_i ... =0_0_10126, or a site called Scribd has them posted that you can read at:http://www.scribd.com/doc/3754630/castl ... tart-rules.

There are several games that are ongoing that you may be able to listen in on through the week to get a taste of how the game works. As well, people run '1-shot' games that you could listen in on as well. (We had one that did last night).

My skype id is lordseurek if you have any questions.

Ditto, my SKYPE ID's: kuotoan.

SKYPE does great voice conferencing, and it's completely free.

Your best bet might be to listen in on a call to meet some people and see the various mapping programs around.

It really is the next best thing to sitting around a table.

And C&C IMHO, is the best thing since medieval sliced bread. Picture AD&D, with a cool thing called the SIEGE system that takes care of 'skill rolls'. The game literally can handle anything, including houserules and rules from other games.

I downloaded the PH today. I am busy this weekend but I'll try to get a hold of you this week maybe.

BTW, can you have multiple Skype handles or do I have to use my regular handle?

Your original post is a bit like my situation. I've not yet recieved my copy of the rules and it would probably be best if I played before I GMd, however my Tue. evening face-to-face group is full up with palyers/GMs/campaigns/systems, so an online game would be best.

Is anyone running or planning on running a game in the evenings GMT (I'm in the UK)?
