Try a new RPG!
Try a new RPG!
I've been looking at my RPG library lately, and realising there are a lot of great gems there that many people may never get a chance to really play. So, I am stepping up to the plate. I will run an online one-shot of any or all of these games, if there is demand. You don't need to buy the books, and I am assuming that these will be intro games so I will provide everything you need to know. So, whadya think?
EDIT: I can't figure out how to do a multi-option poll, so if you have second and third choices, just put them in your post!
Here's a quick run down if you haven't heard of some/all of these games:
The Blossoms are Falling: Role-play in Heian era Japan (before the invention of the katana!), this game uses the innovative Burning Wheel engine and is packed full of inspiration worthy of any chanbara (swordfighting) or onmyodo (magic) flick!
Burning Wheel: One of the most innovative fantasy RPG's out there, Burning Wheel combines a loosely Tolkien-eque setting with groundbreaking game mechanics to make a game that feels both highly realistic yet easy, flexible and lightweight.
Dark Heresy: The last game put out by the legendary Black Industries, Dark Heresy takes the Warhammer Roleplay system and updates it for the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium. Play as the insignificant pawns of a mighty Inquisitor in a game that combines investigation, horror and the occasional brutal combat.
Spirit of the Century: Another highly innovative RPG, in Spirit of the Century you play a pulp 1920's hero fighting mad scientists, bi-plane flying gorilla dictators and proto-fascists. This game uses the Fate 3.0 engine, allowing players and GM alike to tell the story.
Starblazer Adventures: Another Fate 3.0 game, Starblazer Adventures lets you play a cunning space opera hero straight from the pulp comic books. This game has a truly inspired setting, which you can get a good feel for in the free preview, found HERE.
Trail of Cthulhu: Using Robin D. Laws excellent Gumshoe system, Trail of Cthulhu takes a more investigative approach to Cthulhu roleplaying. Uncover cosmic dread, go insane and die!

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
