Fantasy Grounds II

Post by Dellamon »

Is anyone out there using the Fantasy Grounds II software to run a C&C game? If so, do you have a slot available for another player? If not, what has your experience been using the software? I just recently purchased the game and would like to either join or host a online C&C game. Have a few old gaming buddies that are interested in playing too, we are just hesitant to invest in a virtual tabletop system before knowing what it is like to work with. Thanks!

Most, well, all of us do not use FG, we all use Maptools from RPTools.net, its free, and its great.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Thanks for the reply, I kind of figured as much but wanted to check. Fantasy Grounds just seemed a little more polished and easy to get set up from a CK standpoint.

Does anyone have any RPTools games going that have an open slot for another player? I am new to C&C, having just got back into gaming from a long hiatus, and would love to be able to join in a game. Thanks!

The only C&C game I am aware of that has room is probably the Friday game. If your interested in trying out Hackmaster Basic I have room for it in the Monday Game, and the Thursday Irregulars are currently doing a C&C game based in the land of "Men with Tails" you could join. Its 8th level, and PC generation guidelines are in the thread named for the game. Just be aware the Thursday groups main focus is to play a variety of systems, so we will only be sticking with the C&C game for 4 to 6 weeks. The Wed C&C group may have room, but they also have a lot of house rules that you would have to pick up on.

My Tuesday group is currently full, and we are currently taking a break and playing L5R for a month or so. My C&C is also house ruled a lot as well, which you can see via the link in my sig.

You could also see about starting up your own group, there seem to be a fair number of new posters lately, as well as people who aren't able to get into face to face games, so maybe its time for a new regular group to start up for these people to get started with.

Dellamon, you are more than welcome to sit in on my game as well for a few weeks to try the system out. Unfortunately, my numbers are full at 6 for a permanent player, but I don't mind having another character join for a short time to try out c&c before taking up a more permanent game.

Like Treebore said, the friday game that we both play in is probably an option. Its called Bardgate, you can find the thread easily enough. Wulfgarn runs that one so you could check with him.

If you wanna try hackmaster that tree runs, my participation is sporadic due to work/parenting duties so you could try that as well.

FYI, I run a C&C game using FGII. You're welcome to sit and watch, take over an NPC for a session or two, etc.

Send me a PM and we'll get you set up.
