I have to change things...

Post by Treebore »

I found out today I am now Diabetic.

So I have to take my exercise even more seriously than I currently do. Due to heat and scheduling considerations the best time for me to do my exercise is early evening for me (PST, currently, since AZ doesn't change times), so what this means is I can no longer run/play games on Mondays and Fridays until I am done with my exercise.

So I have to step down as DM of the Hackmaster game, and as for the Friday games, I can play, but I will have to join late, likely about 2 hours late.

So if Wulfgarn wants to step up as HM DM, let me know, if my being late to the Friday game isn't good, let me know.

If I can join the HM game on Mondays, up to 2 hours late, I'll continue on as player.

When cool weather returns I can likely exercise at some other time and return to normal game times, but until then I have to do what I have to do.

I'll also send this out via SKYPE to make sure everyone involved in these groups gets this info.

Sorry to hear this Tree. I have more than one diabetic friend and know how serious it can be if not properly controlled. I wish you all the best.

I know I'm not in any of your games, but still that is hard news. I have a very close friend that has diabetes, so know what you are facing...

Man your health is important and keeping in shape is key to keeping diabetes in check. Do what you need to do to keep healthy! Our favorite hobby will still be here after you finish your miles long walk ...

For sure. As somebody with a parent who has diabetes, I know how trying this can be. I hope that you've gotten in front of it, and I certainly hope for more opportunities to game with you at some point in the future...

Yikes! Best of luck with the lifestyle changes, sir - though I'm sure you've got the mettle to get it under control and keep it there.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I can handle it. The changes in my life are far from being the worst things I have ever had to deal with.

Its the GI abnormality that they spotted back in 2008 and never did the follow up on that has me most concerned. Once they do that, hopefully I will feel much better about things.
