I am going to use the Victorious Character creation rules to produce character classes for a Lone Wolf Magnamund setting. I will attempt to create a classes such as: a Kai Lord, Valkeros Knight, Dessi Magician, and a Brotherhood Wizard.

Hmmmm... obviously your going to have to create some of your own powers/abilities/skills, but system/mechanics wise, it should certainly work.

Treebore,

Yes some of the powers and skills will need to be adjusted such as the Kai mind blast.

I read the "Lone Wolf and Cub" graphic novel back in the 1980s, but other than Feudal Japan as the setting I'm afraid I don't know much else. ;)

Mike, whose Japanese knowledge only extends from 1866+

Completely different Lone Wolf than the old Graphic novel both you and I have read.

This is the Lone Wolf he is talking about:

Umm, thats actually a video game I didn't know about. Let me find the pen and paper RPG link too.

This Kickstarter link is probably the best place to start learning.

Hm. I think I might've read/played one of those in the 1980s. In that case, what is it about the LW world/characters that can't be emulated in Castles & Crusades? Is it simply the Vancian system?

DMMike,

Lone Wolf and Cup is not the Lone Wolf story I am referring to. I am referring to Lone Wolf a series of 29 gamebooks, created by Joe Dever and initially illustrated (books 1-8) by Gary Chalk. The series began publishing in July 1984 and sold more than 9 million copies worldwide.[1] The story focuses on the fictional world of Magnamund, where the forces of good and evil fight for control of the planet

Joe Dever, recommends Project Aon (http://www.projectaon.org) legally offers all the original Lone Wolf adventures as free downloads. Also he heartily recommends the Magnamund Companion as a great read.
