Yeah, like I've said on the SoD podcast "Its been playtested for 8 years now! I'd better have the damn thing right." ;)

Gaah! Your game is filled! Only 1 game, Mike?!? Come on, you gotta add another!
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

 Yeah, I was surprised at how fast that game filled up. ;)

Besides, you've already played through that adventure (Hyde n Seek), you know! I might be convinced to run something in open gaming, however. God knows Liz doesn't need an excuse to play V! I'd try and squeeze you into it anyway but one thing I learned playtesting you and the guys through that adventure was that more than six heroes/heroines and it doesn't work well threat wise.

Find me Fri afternoon after the Jasmine card game with Darlene and we'll see what damage we can do. I'll even break out my top hat early. ;)

I wish I had time for gaming. ;) Between demos and running the booth, I'm going to be plenty busy. Victorious, and all of the sessions run by the old TSR bunch looked very appealing. Thanks to both of you (Tree and Mike) for running C&C and Victorious.

I think it is time for an update on the product besides what is provided in the Anvil section. This product has been in the making for a very long time.

What do you want to hear? The description covers it pretty darn thoroughly. We will hopefully, finally, see it in print before the year is out. I would guess the Trolls will even do a KS for it, hopefully right after this one for the "3 Sisters" is over. I know Mike is more eager than any of us to finally get it into print.

What does prepped for editing mean? This has been the message on Anvil for a long time. Whenis the product going to be edited? Why do they need a kicksatrter when almost all the writing has been done?

I'm not sure about 'prepped for editing', though I imagine that means, the final manuscript has been turned in, then entered into what ever editing software or format the Trolls use with their editors, so the edit notes can be properly corrected in the text.

Why a kickstarter when the writing has been done? Actually it is better if the writing is already done before promising a product on kickstarter. That makes a products final completion more likely so more folks will 'kick in' their cash. A kickstarter, though, will raise the upfront money needed to pay the printers, to pay the artists and the graphic designers, and to hopefully pay Mike to add more content as stretch goals.

Yeah, Kickstarters are the new way to avoid big printing costs up front, a KS can take away most or even all of that cost, which is a HUGE help to small business', since that is their biggest risk. So now the Trolls can print Victorious and not worry about taking a loss on it, because it already got enough support via KS to pay for itself. Plus we get some cool extra's, like we are getting with the current KS. So soon we will hopefully see an Victorious KS wanting to raise 15 to 20,000 to get a nice deep print run on it.

And Mike's got his Save Or Die! podcast to help promote a Victorious kickstarter. I bet it would do very well.

Ok, I guess a kickstarter is a good idea and I will particiapate as I wish to have this product. Though I think they should start with the kickstarter now and for people that contribute a certain ampount should get an advanced pre-edited copy.

Too true that I want to see this thing out! Steve's had the MS for almost 2 years now so that's not the hangup. Still, with the color C&C books needing to be out soon I don't begrudge those being KSed first.

I'm trying to get Liz to set up a facebook page for Victorious so I ccan start putting up some stuff, including freebies, villains, supplements, etc; so everyone email Liz and tell her to get moving!

Arrival assured

Post by DMMike »

Victorious is ready to go for Sunday at NTXRPG Con, and Liz bought me a Mandarin collar dress shirt to go with my Steampunk ensemble. ;) We also have goodies for the players!

Game title: Hyde and Seek
Sunday 1100-1600
Game system: Victorious: Steampunk Adventure in the Age of SuperMankind
Number of players: 4-6
Pregens/Level of characters: provided SuperMankind of 4th level
World/Setting: Gilded Adventure in London 1890.
Time needed: 4-5 hours

Short description:
The city of London has seen the end of one monster Mr. Edward Hyde and the disappearance of another, Jack the Ripper. But a strange affliction is spreading in the poverty-stricken East End, where mobs of people transform into insane creatures bent on mayhems most dire! Is Dr. Jekyll really deceased? Has his formula been stolen by other forces determined to drive Britain’s greatest city into chaos? Only a small group of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Ladies can discern the truth!

Hey Lobo,

Alas, that's up to Steve and the Trolls, and I haven't been told what's up with that. I've submitted suggested stretch goals for the KS, but I haven't been told anything about a date or time. Well, I was told possibly GenCon back in the Spring, but at this rate I don't expect that to happen.

Once the color C&C books KS is over I'm hoping V! will be next. Fingers crossed, but I probably hear less from the Trolls than most people. ;)

I've got Liz to commit to a facebook page for V!, and Treebore has kindly volunteered to do a G+ version as well. Now we have pics of the game from NTX to put up there. I'll probably post some of the pregens that were used as one of the first posts. When I do, I'll link it from here.

BTW, though I only got to wear my top hat (out of my Victorian garb) due to a wardrobe malfunction, Liz was in full gear as the photos will soon attest. ;)

Mike I am very please to see that this is finally seeing the light of day. I was always a believer in the project and I know how difficult the journey has been. If this makes it to GenCon, I will be picking up a copy on day one. It will also be my first GenCon and if you and Liz are going to be there, I would love the opportunity to meet up with you and say hi.

All the best!

Hey Moriarty,

Thanks...It does feel like forever doesn't it? ;) Just FYI, it was mostly the same scenario you playtested, but with some changes. That, and they didn't kill Hyde this time (though Treebore wanted to!). Alas, no GenCon for Liz and I. Money's tight, and if we go to GC we want to be SURE its one where Victorious is for sale. Maybe next year.

Once I can nag Liz to put up the facebook page for V! the photos will be there.... They're on Liz's personal page, but I won't post the link because I'm trying to put pressure on her to get the page up. Everyone else feel free to help!

As for freebies, I've got lined up the characters from the playtest (John Henry, Ironclad, Angel, Fawkes, and Fyrd). Next will be the scenario, and then a character sheet designed by Liz. Other goodies are some fiction, a quick-start rules set, and a supplement on 1890s London.

Now that the con is over she has no excuse not to get the page up!
