Christmas Sale Ideas

I'm assuming there'll be the usual 12 Days of Christmas sale. If I'm wrong, just slap me with a dead fish.
Anywho, I was pondering what Steve might dream up this time around, which obviously lead to "Golly, I can think of a few that I'd want to see," which in turn lead to me scribbling this balogna. Mmmm. Balogna....

One thing we've talked about before, but never could come up with a way to pull it off, is a catch-up sale of sorts. Something that would give people a way to get the newer adventures they're lacking, without having to buy a bundle full of dupes. And then it just hit me. How about a "Buy 10 or more Adventures, get 'em at half price" day? ("Day" as in 1 of the 12) That'd let people pick up only what they're wanting, with no dupes, and still qualify as a typical sale bundle of sorts. It's also a very spiffy way for someone to "update" their modules to the new cover versions without spending an arm-and-a-leg, and be able to skip the ones that haven't been updated yet. Whudya think? I think that's pretty durned inspired.
I'm sure there'll be the usual uber-bundles of rulebooks and such for multiple players and CKs. Here's hoping for some 10-buck sales on individual rulebooks (I've still gotta grab OG&M and M&ToA, for example), which would be nice (and handy).

So that's my big, bright idea. Curious if it floats. Anyone else got any new, original suggestions we haven't seen before? Might all end up being just an excercise in creativity, but what the heck, it's fun.

That does sound like a good idea. Bear in mind(if memory serves)that some of the older modules(reprinted later on), and some of the newer ones(I think)were lowered from 8.99 to 4.99. That's the usual every day deal as I recall(might be wrong). Half off of 4.99 would be an insanely crazy deal to be certain. I'm not sure how many products I don't have outside of the CKG, M and T of Airhde, and A7. Unless there have been any other mods or supplements released as well. Maybe the rest of the proposed A series, Umbrage Saga pt. 2??? Bring on the sale!

I also may be wrong, but wasn't the Black Friday through Cyber Monday sale in lieu of the 12-Days of Christmas sale? There were some pretty awesome deals to be had during that sale!

Yeah, but it wouldn't be the first time we've seen Le Trolls do really low-priced sales on bundles before, which is part of why I suggested a minimum of ten adventures. Methinks if you look at some of the past deals, and separate the adventures from the other books that were present, it's actually on-par with previous sale bundles. (Not to mention, not all adventures are 5 bucks. Some are much higher. I, for one, would definitely grab both the A-series modules and the boxed set if they were in a half-price sale.)

I never thought for a moment that had anything to do with Christmas. And it was just one page of rulebooks. Ironically, that sale hit towards the end of the month, so I couldn't grab anything (there were two rulebooks and a module I've been wanting.)

The Trolls need the cash to print the CKG, so there will be a 12 Days of Christmas sale. Hopefully all my legal crap will be resolved and I will have money in my pocket so I can take advantage of it.

I can see why lawyers are so hated. $300/hour, really?!?

I was eyeballing the CK screen and some of the modules over on Amazon. I guess I'll hold off on placing an order until I see see what they put on sale.

There was a Buy 1 Get 1 Free sale on the $4.99 modules a few months back so that could be a possibility. That was a sweet deal. With shipping it was around $35 for ten modules. I wouldn't mind seeing that again or maybe a half off deal on Crusader back issues.

Somebody mentioned that some of the modules were higher than 4.99. There are probably some of the early printings(border on the covers matched the look of the old phb) of some that were originally 8.99 if I'm not mistaken. Then again, I'm not sure how much A6 and 7 were. I do believe that 4.99 was going to become the established price, with the exception of products like the huge Unbrage box, supplements, the ckg, and the like. Sad I missed that two fer five awhile back, but I own most of them. Come on TLG. Papa needs a discounted M&T of A, and an A7(at the very least)!
