I saw somewhere that Colin Chapman of the Colin Sez pdf posted on here so this is my attempt for an answer to a question about his excellent pdf Colin Sez ( I have several questions, but this one is prodominate-
In the pdf the sorcerer pretty much as described could also imply being a race/half race such as aasimar, tiefling, dragon kin etc.
So question, should one go through the trouble and translate all those races or should all those races have at least one level of sorcerer? Certainly the later would be easier.
Thanks!

Oh! almost forgot, a related subject- how would you do a warlock translation for the game?
Thanks again.

Most of the weird D&D races have been translated to C&C.

A lot of those races have EL of +1 or more in 3.x so you'd have to nerf them a bit to keep them balanced with the current set of C&C races. The CKG may have something to say about this... I'm still waiting for mine.

I don't know that you could bring the warlock in and keep it balanced. Remember, the warlock class was a trial run for some of the 4e mechanics - a wizard type who can "cast" a spell every round (eldritch blast or whatever it's called). One of our players played a warlock and I found him to be unbalanced at low levels of play anyway.

The Sorcerer is typically of a much more diluted bloodline than half-X; basically, the implication is that the infusion of Magical Being X's blood into the character's family line occured a few generations ago, maybe longer, and while mystical traces are still there and can be naturally tapped, physical traces of that non-human lineage are most frequently minor.

Personally, I wouldn't give half-races automatic levels in Sorcerer, but it'd certainly make an obvious class for them to follow (and provide an immediate themed hook for their magical development).

Thank you so much for answering. what do you mean by "immediate themed hook" if I might ask.
Do you mean something like a Tiefling type would get -1 to charisma but when taking sorcerer it's counted as
one higher? something like that? Thanks again.

Nope, I mean that "half-X" provides an obvious theme for the sorts of spells they develop, so a Tiefling will develop appropriately "infernal" spells, a half-dragon will develop spells that reflect draconic abilities, and so on.
