Charging

Is -4 to AC to high of a penalty to get +2 to damage? Would it be better if it was -2 to AC la D&D 3ed?

Thats how I do it, plus DEX bonuses are negated.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
Sounds obvious to me! -Gm Michael

Hmm, I still play this BTB and there has been no serious problems with the rule thus far. I think a fine rule.

Well, in 3.X the charge gives a bonus to hit and not a bonus to damage (charging with a lance rfom horseback is the odd one there), so i would say a bonus to damage is much better than a to hit one, and in the game i am playing the rule seems to be fine as is.

Just saying.

*Checks 3.X charging rule*

Oops...you are absolutely right.

Hmm, yeah, and you still get your Dex bonus (which does make sense since you could still duck and weave while charging) - which can make up for the -4 penalty if your a high dex character.

I can't say I've had any problems with the charging rules. And the cleric is always charging in, it seems. Too eager to smite evil, I guess.
