Showing the sturdiness of the new screen, I was asked "What's with the bimbo going into battle half-dressed?" There was a line that I frequently used for Red Sonja back with Roy was writing and Frank was drawing: "Yeah - she died in the first encounter."

By Roy, I assume you mean Thomas? He was originally from my neck of the woods in SE MO. His bio with Marvel is pretty impressive for one if the old guys. A nice, modest, tell it like it was fellow. Gary Friedrich, one of the Ghost Rider co-creators is also from here. Denny O'Neil was from St. Louis. In the works of 1960's and 70's Marvek and DC, they were known as the "Missouri Mafia".

Yep, that's them - though Roy hangs out in South Carolina nowadays, and I'm not in Farmington (not too far from Roy's old Cape Girardeau) any more. Join us over at Alter-Ego-Fans (a Yahoo group, which means that even though I moderate it, I never remember its URL) for talk about the Golden, Silver, and some of the Bronze Ages of comics. He's still editing Alter-Ego, y'know.

Roy was just north of Cape in Jackson. His mother still lives there, unless she has passed in the last year or two. Either way, I'm sure you know far more than I do. Met him twice, maybe three times. Interviewed him and Denny when I still worked in radio. How long have you been away from Farmington? I'm in sikeston. Would have been co to do some C&C gaming.
