Re: El Cid??
Since "EL CID" is "DICE-L" spelled sideways sort of, he would be in the dice bag.

Where is Davis or Steve when you need them? I wish I could help you but I never ran anything in that world, mostly because I knew I could not to it justice running for the guys who wrote it!

Re: El Cid??
Good question, by the way I love tying in "historic" characters into my home-brew worlds. However, I never thought about El Cid in Erde until your post.
After a quick read through of my Codex last night I looked for an area that had a knightly background (not toooo hard in Erde, but it does take out the north kingdoms, Brindisium, Tangeia). Then looked for areas that would have opponents that would be honorable - at least a significant amount of the opponents (This limited the list of areas down because I can't see areas like Burnevitise Gottland Aufstrag - with all the orcs goblins urgen etc - being honorable to their enemies. Then I looked for an area that had a weak king &/or ready for at least limited infighting from the nobles. *** All three of these are key to making a character like El Cid ***
From that, I came up with Kayomar (knightly/noble families, with a weak young king and proud noble families on the edge of fighting for the crown, and at a low scale war with Maine which is a mix of honorable/knightly people but having opulent aristocracy focused on pleasure/harems/trade.
Hope it helps.
EDIT --- After thinking about it, Aachen could be a second area for "El Cid" with Tagea &/or Augsberg acting as the opponents. It isn't as good a fit as Kayomar, but close enough to think about.
