Umbrage Saga questions continued - may contain spoilers

I'm having a creative low at the moment...
We're a number of modules into the Umbrage Saga. the players trekked off after to the ziggurat, didn't do any reconnaissance, lucked their way in, went halfway down settiung off every alarm they could, lost all their hirelings, and escaped before meeting the witch queen. They are in the countryside licking their wounds. Short two players tonight as well...they're all level 3 with the exception of the illusionist who's level 4.
What would you do at this point. I was thinking of maybe an intermediary module (any suggestions?) to help them level while the witch queen prepares for their return, or I suppose I could do a merry chase across the countryside...they really need to find a couple of hirelings at this point if they are going to survive.

Sounds like you're a bit ahead of me. We're still on A2 Slag Heap. I don't recall the exact geographic locations, but there are other Aihrde adventures that you might be able to slip in. Dwarven Glory(3 mini adventures of varying levels), Shades of Mist, Mortality of Green, Heart of Glass(too big for a diversion), and "maybe" Lure of Delusion or Malady of Kings(too big once again). Not much help, but some suggestions. the Dwarven Glory adventures are an average of 5? pages each I think. Check the storefront descriptions. Hope that helps a bit.

Well, since they were having such a big sale, I bought A7-A9, C1-C2, D1, I1-I3, U1-U3, S1-S4, DB1-DB6, DA1, plus a few other...some of the numbering were a little odd...but I think that's all of them...
So..thanks for pointers, it gives me some direction on what to read.

I think I own about all of the TLG catalog, minus the old D20 modules, the landscape screen, aihrde maps, classic monsters, og&m hardcover, m&t of a hardcover, the two graph paper pads, Hall of of Many Planes(D20), and at least 4 of the Gygaxian Fantasy Worlds books. I own very few of the pdf's, and I'm tempted to rectify that problem.

Good luck with finding something to fill things out.

Are you up to making up something yourself? Blacktooth Ridge is supposed to be full of old fortifications and strongholds of Unklar's forces; you could easily feed them clues to one or another. You can use Engineering Dungeons or Towers of Adventure to put something together fairly painlessly.

Grab something from the one page dungeon contest that was recently run. Or use something from Brave Halfling and have them wander around Larm or just have the 3 of them run through the The Vile Worm of the Eldritch Oak.

I'll check out the Brave Halfling Stuff...
...I'm suffering a little lull in my creativity, work is slowly sucking my spirit away...
I'm thinking of one of the Dwarven Glory adventures relocated (although I may leave the "teleport" across the world to the original locale)...coupled with some overland travels/encounters.

The Dwarven Glory adventures have served me well at conventions, each fitting into a 4-hour session. The problem is that I've used all of these at two cons I attend regularly. It has forced me to come up with some of my own very sub-par adventures. Either way, I think they're a perfect fit (short of the geography) for your umbrage campaign. There are also a few PDF-only adventures. Wizard's Tower, Cloud Giant's Tower, They Call Him Guff, and Where Cool Waters Run. All fit into an evening, as well.

Look in the C&C Society section for the thread on the tomb dungeon - it works great for 3rd level characters, and you can easily place it almost anywhere. And it's free.
