Feedback on a proposed character...

Post by serleran »

I was curious your thoughts on a character I am considering creating, which is not normally officially allowed as both classes melded share the same Prime, but I have the Castle Keeper's allowance should my current pit fighter perish. The basic model is a parody of Elvis, after having been granted his Nixonian pseudo-agent status. The character will be a male elf, as I feel this is the best overall fit, although a gnome or halfling might be more interesting (I was trying to avoid these as the last three characters of mine have all been "short stock".) The class concept is going to be called a pompadour and will effectively combine the paladin and bard classes. What I would like from the board are some ideas for alternate / special abilities, considering that the majority should be bardic in nature... especially if they pertain to attracting a following of groupies and/or in relation to music.

I
LOVE
It.

You can even call him "Elfis"

How about a Bardic healing? Song so sweet or uplifting it lifts the spirits so much you gain HP. like the new barbarian hp healing ablility i can't recall the name of. maybe make it like Lay on Hands, 2 hp / level once per day.

Swagger might be a CHR ability; he just commands the room so much, or with hip gyrations can encite female madness.

or all this Elvis-esque stuff can jsut be Chr checks in the old skool manner, I suppose.

but it sounds fun never the less.

Take Breath Away: Any female human who hears him sing must make a Wis based save or become short of breath and unable to perform any strenuous action for 1 turn. A roll of 1 on the save means that the lady has fainted. Range 100' radius.

I think the "take breath away" would be better suited as "swoon" but I like the general ideas presented so far. Please keep them coming.

I believe I'll try to include something like "crowd control" which will be a sort of mass fascinate / mass suggestion, perhaps available at higher levels, around 7 or so.
