runes?

Hi all-

I'm a bit confused about some products dealing with runes. At one point there was a book titled "The Winter Runes", and now i'm seeing references to one titled "Rune Lore".

Are these different books? I can only find Rune Lore on The Anvil section of the Trolls' site, but don't see a reference to The Winter Runes.

Can someone help explain these books and what the difference is? Thanks!

They are different.
Winter Runes was a d20 product from back in the day.
Rune lore is (to my understanding) an updated version, made fully compatible with C&C and expanded and updated a bit.

Yep. The original Winter Runes was a d20 product and detailed some of the World of Aihrde. It was going to be converted to C&C. But, the name changed and that product is now called Rune Lore which has more stuff than the original had, at least as far as the runes are concerned -- the background info may have been modified too, but I dunno.

And, there is also Codex Celtarum or whatever that might also have this sort of thing... and if not, Codex Germania definitely should. Both of which would be even more different.

So, i found a tread where Steve discusses release dates. But i'm seeing two product numbers- 8127 and 8320. Was 8127 the original Winter Runes conversion, and 8320 the revised (non- Winter Runes title) version?

According to that thread, last updated on Nov 9 it appears, we'd expect Rune Lore by the new year. So it must not be out yet. Unless i'm missing something...

I would assume the number change is due to the title change. Rune Lore was a Kickstarter, I think, and should be made available shortly... I have no idea what happens at Troll HQ these days, so I'm just throwing out what I recall from what I've seen and understand.

Yeah, this product is definitely getting a makeover. We are working on the runes themselves making them more usable. Also, the Rune Mark is getting overhauled. We want to make it more playable than what we originally had. We have condensed the area to the Gottland. I believe we are making good progress!
