In the book Of Gods and Monsters, the deities have granted abilities that can be granted to worshippers. I tried using them and found that at lower level, they tend to be very over-powered.
I allow my players to use advantages (feats) from the CKG. So I changed it to allowing the granted abilities from the G&M but it took an advantage slot from their advantages. I have found that to be over powered as well. So I limited it to those over 5th level.
Thinking about dropping them altogether. Anyone else use them at all?

I would only use for high level characters that are doing something specific for the God in question. I never considered just granting them to low level types.

So far I've never used them: I agree with you, Snoring Rock, they are really too over powered!!!

They are ridiculously over-powered in that book. The flavor is there, but any sense of game balance is null. I had to come up with my over version of these types of powers/abilities. Essentially, I now use Divine Domains that operate somewhat like the 3E versions. This is a better way to balance powers of believers other than with just divine spell power.

Most of them aren't allowed until "X" level anyways. I recall a few not being allowed until 5th level. So I've only found a handful to be a little too much for the level they are allowed, so only increased the level requirement for it. I think the highest I made it was 6th.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
