Has anyone tried using Amazing Adventures Mentalist class and psionics rules in a C&C game?
I just bought Amazing Adventures and Green Ronins Mindshadows setting at a local used book store.
The Mindshadows setting has a large island with a East Indian setting were psionics is important. I thought it would be a good place to drop into the Aihrde setting.
Thanks

Re: AA Mentalist rules in C&C.
I am going import several classes from Amazing Adventures. The Mentalist Class is the first class I am importing. It is well done. I intend to give the Cleric and Druid the cold hard boot! I am also considering getting rid of the Wizard and Illusionist and replacing them with the Rune Mark.

I love the rune mark but I don't know if it really has the power to replace either one of those classes, it is awesome and great I love it and have been altering it already by futzing with the runes and making up some of my own until the rest of the codices come out but the way it is written with the removal of all those spell casting classes there will be no one left to use magic items and scrolls, just something to think about

I have been wanting to get away from the standard D&D magic system for a while now. It works fine, but to me there is just too much magical might at high levels and too many magic items. I like a lower magic setting. I believe that with classes like the cleric and wizard gone that the Mentalist and Rune Mark will fulfill the role of magic support quite well.

In that aspect I think the Rune mark will be perfect for what you want, do you plan on dealing away with magical items and scrolls completely or making the rune mark and mentalist able to use them too?

Creation of magic items can be done by Rune Marks or NPC Alchemists. Scrolls can be done by Rune Marks. Healing potions can be made by NPC Herbalists. The Mentalist will not be able to create magic items or scrolls. Mentalist use psionics only.

I had thought, and now of course I can't find it lol, that I had read somewhere in rune lore that the rune mark can't weild magic items as it is classified as a different magic then what he knows, I mean this is just what is in the book and the nice part of C&C is that it lends itself to being house ruled, I was just curious.
Edit: I just had a thought steal into my brain and that is that what you just put up there are how you are planning to run magical items in your game, sorry about not seeing that before if that is the case, the brain isn't firing on all cylinders yet
