A call for help list brick and mortar stores

Post by timburns »

Do you have a favorite brick and mortar store where you buy Troll Lord Games stuff? If so, we want to hear about it. We are in the process of organizing our retailer page, http://www.trolllord.com/retailers that is not only for retailers but is also for consumers. When done, it will hopefully list every store that carries TLG product. A lot of what we had was out of date so we are in the process of confirming and adding to everything we had. So please, if you would, send me an email with your stores name, address, phone number, website or whatever you know of those to tim@trolllord.com and we'll get it up there. You can also list it here if you want, but to make sure I get it, email it as well. Thanks so much!

There is a store I got to approximately once a month, but I never buy TLG stuff there, since all he has, still, is the first printing PH and M&T. In fact, with it being an hour away, it is far more practical and cheaper for me to just order it directly from you guys, or Amazon, etc...
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
Sounds obvious to me! -Gm Michael

My experience is very similar. My FLGS has a decaying wall of old RPG products. All the owner adds to his inventory is Pathfinder and collectible card game stuff. I haven't seen a new TLG product since I ordered the CKG a couple years ago and they put the damn thing on the shelf instead of calling me to tell me my order had come in. I'd like to support my FLGS if they would do a competent job of obtaining product for me. Sadly, I'm much better off ordering directly from TLG if I want something.

Despite the fact that we have played C&C a lot at Little Shoppe of Games in OKC, everything we own from you guys has been ordered from you guys directly.

The place carries a lot of board/card/minatures games, with rpgs being less that 25%, but the owner does his best to special order anything we want. Let me try to oder a few C&C books from him and see where this gets us. You never know, LSoGs might be the first local game stop in the OKC area (with New World and Games HQ being included) to carry C&C stuff.

I'm hesitant to put my LGS on this list because of three things.
  1. They'll only order in a book that you have requested.
  2. Wait times are ridiculous. (I can order from TLG direct and it will probably get to me before getting it from this store.)
  3. Their mark-up is in the realms of stupidity. I ordered the landscape CK screen and was charged $40 for my troubles, plus the taxes. (Provincial and Federal) I can order direct from TLG, pay the exorbitant shipping costs and still come out ahead.
I'm sure I can order any TLG book from Le Valet D'Coeur (Quebec) or Sentry Box (Alberta) and get it for the TLG normal price plus a little for shipping and the Federal tax only. You could list this as "Will mail order anywhere in Canada" or "The (city) and that it will mail order to anywhere in Canada." I've dealt with both and they have excellent customer service.

If you are including stores that will order TLG stuff, but don't have any stock on hand, I'd be happy to give you the address, webpage and phone number (If they have one.) of these two stores.

I'll even add The Gamestop if you want to put a store that radically over-prices it's mark-up, is in the city that I live in and is readily accessible. (No long drives.)

I decided to not be such a negative ninny and emailed you the info for Little Shoppe of Games in OKC. That place rocks and the owner is the friendliest guy in retail.

I sent an e-mail.
(1) With a store around an hour from my house that carries lots of C&C stuff.
(2) With a store around 15 min from my house, and I wish they carried it.
