With all the discussions of house rules and such, I'm curious to know if the Trolls play their game as is, or if they have a "house-ruled" version as well. Anyone know?
If they don't play C&C as is, I'd love to know what their house rules are.

It depends on who's running the game.
Steve, who is not one for rules (Ie, dont ask him rules questions. He doesnt know), tends to hand wave and story much of the game
Davis, he's the major rules monkey. Expect to see a lot of detailed mechanics from him. But one had best be a masochist in his game. Dude's brutal. ^_~`
I'm not sure about any of the other folks in their group. I've only been involved in games that Steve and Davis have ran.

how the Trolls run their game
Hello all, here is the breakdown on how we run our games, which are Wednesday nights....
Steve: Although Peter is generally correct, Steve's current game is being run right out of the rule books, leading to some instances where playing "out of the book" differs from his past games, which were more open to waving the rules on an as needed basis.
Davis: Davis typically tweaks his game to make it more realistic and rough, a la Warhammer FRP, but he keeps most of the rules tweaks behind the screens so he will have to detail examples.
Mac: I tend to run my game mostly out of the book. I do not use the encumberance rules (I use a more basic style of estimating encumberance and modifying movement accordingly). I also only impose a -2 hit, -4 dmg to two-weapon fighting. Although the rules do not forbid it, I DO NOT allow any character to attempt a class ability of another class, so no fighters trying to pick pockets. I tend to give class abilities some latitude in use beyond what the PH states. I also have made changes to the weapons lists and weapons damages, and armor list as they appear in the second printing of the PH.

Re: how the Trolls run their game
I'm something of a rules hand waver myself. I will favor cinematic and flavor all the time over a specific 'rules' interpretation. So, give me a good reason for something and I'm generally inclined to allow it.

I'm not in the Wednesday game, but in the Saturday game with Steve, Todd, Davis, Mark, Myself, Huds0n, and a couple of others, Steve runs the game fairly by the book with minor variances (ie- he has a critical hit rule and rolling initiative is modified). When I run the game, I tend to do it the way Steve has done it since that is what we are used to now. We just played this last Saturday but Steve and Davis couldnt make this one, so I ran the rest in my game.
