Cool magic item for a druid?

Post by Snoring Rock »

What would be a cool magic item for the druid? I am happy with something right out of the book. Just not sure what would be cool.

If 3rd level I'd give a Full Chain suit (+ 6 to AC) made of wood that had Ironwood cast on it..

I can see it being made out of different colors of wood to give it natural camouflage quality when in a forest...

Goodberry Bush: This plant can be grown in any conditions save those which lack water. It takes 1 week to grow to maturation but remains alive for 1d12+1 months thereafter. Each day, 1d6+1 berries can be removed without causing any harm, each one acting as the spell goodberry. If more are taken than this amount, reduce the lifespan of the plant by 1 month for each additional 5. A druid can attempt to cultivate an additional plant from an existing berry with a 1% chance of success; if the druid uses holy water when attempting this process, they add twice their level to the chance of success.

I like this one. I'm assuming the magic item, begins as a magic seed or perhaps a small seedling? Or could a cutting from the original plant be planted?

Either would work for me. Some might argue that all of them are children of the original, but I would personally make it start off as a seed of some sort because I think its "more natural" to think of that way.

Winging it here...
1) Darkwood or Iron Wood scimitar basically a wood sword that cuts like metal, add some or no magic to it other than its uniqueness.. Druid spells of certain "wood" focus could be made to work on it or at advance potency.
2) Silver or Gold bladed Sickle made of Rowan Wood and living.. entwined with Holly also living.. use like normal, acts as spell components, helps in harvesting plants for the druid's spells and concoctions. Finally, It helps the druid as a holy item when in his grove.
3) Lightening Rod.. Extra long quarter staff with copper cladding.. grounds all electric attacks directed at the Druid if planted in the soil/earth. +1 damage, extra long, "reach"? But more weighty and higher encumbrance.
4) Bear Skin Cloak, permits one step up in size with Druid Shape change to a bear... exchange "bear" with any animal.. obviously if small not a "cloak" and yes, this is too high a level to be affective for 1-3rd lvl.. future planning...
5) Crown of the Treant - a wooden crown that when invoked (X/month) makes the Druid appears as a Treant for up to 1/lvl of the druid - this is illusion only, linked to the level of the Druid... it was a gift to a Druid from a friendly Gnomish Illusionist.
Wow, Another Natural One! You guys are a sink hole for luck. Stay away from my dice.

Call of the Wild: This silver whistle is a great boon to any wilderness adventurer for it allows, when blown, the summoning of aid from the surrounding environment as if the spell summon animal were cast. For any non-druid, the effect is static and treated at 1st level ability; a druid using the whistle has the effect resolved at an equal level to their own. Furthermore, if the druid is at least 5th level, they may also affect one animal called as if by the animal growth spell. Alternatively, it can be used one other way -- any lycanthrope within hearing distance must revert to their true shape and remain for 6 hours; it has no effect on beings polymorphed or altered, only creatures classified as lycanthropes. The magic can be invoked once per day.

All great ideas.

But if he's truly Druish, only the Schwartz can save him.

Funny, the druid doesn't look Druish.
