Racial traits and class modifiers

Post by jdizzy001 »

Do these 2 things stack? For example would an elven rogue gain a +4 to listen? +2 for elven keen senses and +2 for the elven rogue class modifier?

Yes, they stack.

However, if you, as the CK, feels that it makes an elven rogue too powerful for your game, you can always houserule it.

I don't use magic items, and I tend to cap my games around lvl 12. My pc's need all the bonuses they can get ;)

They stack. If you are an elven fighter, you still get +2 to listen. If you are an elven rogue, you get +4.

I think this is a good way to make niche characters. Just as you examples suggest, dizzy, the elven rogue with keen senses - with a +6 to listen - makes an awesome scout, sentry, or rogue. If a player wants to make someone who is really good at being aware of his surroundings, rolling up an elven rogue would be a good way to do it.

But yes, I think any modifiers from race, class, advantages, and items (magical or otherwise) should "stack" together.
