Cut a table made in Microsoft Word and paste it in a topic field? I have a bunch of characters I'd like to paste, but the format is not working.
Castles & Crusades, The Crusader Magazine, Aihrde, and all other things SIEGE.

Not really. In this regard Board s/w hasn't progressed since the mid 90's. I usually make a jpg file and upload it to the thread.REHowardfanatic wrote:Cut a table made in Microsoft Word and paste it in a topic field? I have a bunch of characters I'd like to paste, but the format is not working.
How do I do that?Arduin wrote: I usually make a jpg file and upload it to the thread.
MS Word into a pdf --> Snapshot (in acrobat reader) saved as a jpg via MS PaintREHowardfanatic wrote:How do I do that?Arduin wrote: I usually make a jpg file and upload it to the thread.
I use OpenOffice to do it now. Is LibreOffice similar?Treebore wrote:Assuming your system isn't too old, this is free, legal, and will probably give you the tools you need...

Pretty much, I just like the interface of Libre better, but I have Open Office as well.Arduin wrote:I use OpenOffice to do it now. Is LibreOffice similar?Treebore wrote:Assuming your system isn't too old, this is free, legal, and will probably give you the tools you need...

How are you trying to "upload" them?REHowardfanatic wrote:Cool programs- thanks for recommending them!
I have my characters in pdf, but they still aren't uploading. Suggestions?
Now if someone knows a good free antivirus for Windows XP...
The site won't take pdf's. While in acrobat reader click on Edit and select Snapshot. Use it to select an area to copy. (it will save the image to your clipboard). Open MSPaint and choose Paste. Save file as a jpg. Upload the jpg to the site.REHowardfanatic wrote: I have my characters in pdf, but they still aren't uploading. Suggestions?
HOw does one "upload a jpg to the site" with the intent of posting it here? I never tried this before but just now realize (in trying to help the OP) that I seem unable to do so with any type of file as well. I can't find anything on the forum, or in my user settings. I must be looking in the wrong place or something.Arduin wrote:The site won't take pdf's. While in acrobat reader click on Edit and select Snapshot. Use it to select an area to copy. When you start a thread or are in reply mode scroll down until you see the Upload attachment section.mbeacom wrote: HOw does one "upload a jpg to the site" with the intent of posting it here? Ok, yes, I was looking in the wrong place. Everywhere but where I should have been.Arduin wrote:When you start a thread or are in reply mode scroll down until you see the Upload attachment section.mbeacom wrote: HOw does one "upload a jpg to the site" with the intent of posting it here? Click on Browse button to select file from computer.
Then click on "Add the file" button about an inch down from that. A pop up should quickly appear uploading the file. It disappears when done.
Now a line right below the window where you can type text appears labeled "Attachments". It will show the name of the file you uploaded and to the right in faint lettering is a button called, Place Inline. Position your cursor where you want the picture in the text and click it. It then creates a board code line with the name of the file.
It is NOT an intuitive process by any means. (gif, jpeg, jpg & png are it I think)mbeacom wrote: Ok, yes, I was looking in the wrong place. Everywhere but where I should have been. Thanks for the info Arduin!
And, yes, I can confirm, it won't allow PDFs for me either, but will allow JPGs.
